To Those Who Kill In Freemode

If somebody randomly kills me I make them my personal mini-game and hunt them until they leave or I get bored.

There's no benefits to killing in Freemode, even for trolls. There's usually only negative effects to the player who was killed, and actually, negative effects to the killer.

 

Killer effects

Max xp you gain per kill: 100 (I don't even know the minimum because I haven't killed in Freemode, see no reason to)

Sure, maybe this is how you rob a person, I don't see you getting 10k, and even if you use this tactic to farm for cash, your skills stay ultimately sh*tty.

Wasted ammo

Chance to waste extra ammo

Chance to damage or total person vehicle

 

Victim effects:

Pay Hospital bill

 

 

 

There's no scoreboard so you can gloat, either. So I seriously don't see the point in it. It seems entirely more logical to go back to GTA4 and kill people in Freeroam than here. And no, I've actually never been killed in free roam, shot, yes, but I've never paid any Hospital Bills.

You cap then for one reason... If you dont do it to them, they will cap you instead! Though, I have not been killed by another player oddly enough. Its been so easy to avoid.

- playing last night

- join room

- stood around for about 10 seconds before some random guy who I've never seen or heard of puts a 1k bounty on me for absolutely no reason

- fine, have it your way

- go to Fort Zancudo and grab a jet

- proceed to basically spawn rape this guy for about 5 minutes (was only able to kill him 4 times)

- he leaves

- end up outlasting the bounty anyway

- dat satisfaction

 

It was so cute watching him turn on passive mode without realizing that it doesn't help while in a vehicle.

 

I ended doing the same thing to another player later on since killed me for no reason. The satisfaction of giving them the assraping that they rightfully deserve while knowing that there is absolutely nothing that they can do to you is... worth it, I guess. You feel kind of bad after a while, though, even if they deserve it.

I'm in level 45 so I can give lester a call to remove my blimp in the other players map so I kill them all stealthy XD.

Also in free mode I always walk around with my huge assault rifle to let everyone know what I got down if they f*ck with me.

I seem to be the victim in every massacure I've encountered. PLayers kill me endlessly, and whenenver I even get CLOSE to aiming at them they just plug me right between the eyes.

 

THE most annoying situation is when I leave los santos customs and some asshole is waiting outside to plug me before I even get control of my character.

 

Any real tips to combat? I'm using the lockon system because I cannot use freeaim. (If only it had mouse support.)

 

 

I wish they removed the medical bills or at least turned them down a notch because every time I enter combat it turns out like this

Get invite only lobbies via friends and/or crew and let the dogs bark their brains out.

However, I keep trusting people only to get shot in the back, these people usually fail miserably and get capped for their troubles. From now on, people who approach me get killed.

If you play auto aim, you have to accept you're going to get killed in a split second of someone seeing you. Try free aim, if you get used to it it's much more enjoyable and at least you will have time to get away as they will most likely miss a few shots.

I don't kill in public freeroams (unless I see a bounty, which I haven't yet), but I'm totally fine with anyone who shoots at me. They don't know me, and they're just protecting themselves. What does annoy me a little is when someone will deliberately chase you down to get a shot at you. In my very first session some guy--with his friend in the passenger seat--chased me across half of LS and finally killed me (I only had the pistol Lamar gave me at the time, and I had to try to drive and shoot, so I didn't really have much chance in that one). If I'm trying to get away from you, then obviously I wasn't planning on killing you, which kinda makes you a d'bag. But it's GTA, and if you're gonna play with a lobby full of randoms you're just gonna have to expect that that kinda thing is gonna happen sometimes. Not a huge deal.

 

I also had a guy chase me down and kill me for the Sabre GT I was driving, which is how I discovered a fun little game: go to Vinewood and find an Infernus, then drive past randoms at full speed and watch 'em go nuts trying to catch you and get it for themselves. The crappier their car, the funnier it is. (This probably won't work for too much longer, tho, once people start to realize that A) they can find NPCs with Inferni without much trouble, and B) that they can't get a tracker and insurance for it, so they'll only have it until they leave the lobby. But it's funny right now, at least.)

I don't kill people in free roam unless they attack me, i don't like it and I am almost 100% with the OP except that you improve your shooting stats there is not much to again. There are so many missions where you can go at each other, it is sometimes just nice to explore. Having said that.. LS is a dangerous city and without the threat of being wasted this would not transport. When I totally have enough i go into passive mode just to get yelled at by a 6yo who calls me names I have never heard of. Their parents must be proud

I got killed by some ass hole who shot me while I was in the clothing store from the street through the door. Sucks when you have no way to defend yourself then you lose money for dying on top of that.

Yesterday, I got shot by random so I shoot him before he can kill me.

I'm pissed so I set a $9,000 bounty and send merryweather on him and someone pick it.

 

Later he bring a crew to kill me but i get on the helicopter and fly away then i got kick from that session...

I don't care if anyone want to kill someone for no reason in this game. but R* seriously need to fix the kick system. It's broken

Or you could just activate passive mode and get yourself some distance first. This way it won't be much fun for him trying to kill you. Just keep running through places he can't run you over and you're golden. Also, after ranking up a bit you can put bounties and such on these bullies!

Isn't it called FREE mode because your FREE to do what you want? I get irritated when someone kills me for no reason in FREE mode some times too, but I know I'm taking a risk by playing in a public FREE mode. If this upsets you that much just do solo sessions.

FREE has 2 meanings. It means you are free to be a douchebag. It also means I am free to do what I want, without having to constantly watch my back for said douchebags.

 

How do I know this? The presence of bad sport and it`s intended goal - to keep said douchebags away of the "general population".

I agree with you 100% but in all honesty, the bad sport system is broken. I get kicked out of a game for no reason, just minding my own business and I get a point towards bad sport. That's bull. That's why I mostly play in crew sessions so I don't have to worry about any of that stuff.

I am not saying it is not broken, such as players getting it instantly if they blow up an owned vehicle, or "rightful vengeance".

 

I hope Rockstar fixes it, but, being the blunt weapon that it is, it will never be perfect. There will always be grey areas, where legit actions will be taken as griefing by the system.
