sounds like somebody's mad they keep getting killed in free roam.

it's gta, killing other players is part of the game, if you don't like it go to passive, what's the problem here?

Who's mad? My Stats say I have not died once.

Why would they add freerome when you get marked down as a bad sport of killing those around you i dont get it at all, its a matter of survival its either you or that other player who ends up dead.

Adding another system in place of friendly fire to toggle on or off would be worth while , people can than choose between 2 server options.

I'm not one of those griefing "look to piss off the world" kind of players...

But I just can't help but to set trip in Los Santos..

Don't follow me. Don't even drive by me. I shoot for gratification, not leaderboards. 5 dollars is better than no dollars and in this case $100 is just fine.

Now if you don't wanna be shot, run. I don't shoot runners. I get the point when people don't wanna be shot but you're gonna get shot 8/10 if you're in my vicinity.

What do I gain out of it? Satisfaction. It's fun. It's a game. I don't do it all the time. I'm a 26 year old white male recently graduated from college, not a 12 year old (just to give you a sense here). I find it hilarious at times. When I first started Online, a player rammed my car, scaring the sh*t out of me. I burned rubber and he chased me. I outmaneuvered the daylights out of him, watching him hit things and fly past me into walls. I wasn't mad. I was grinning, saying to myself, "man this is cool". I then proceeded to do it to others for a while just because it's fun chasing people and seeing what happens. Then I went back to missions. Simple as that. FUN is what I gain. Money can buy more ammo and car repairs, not too worried.

I think of them as "Institutionalized C.O.D and Battlefield players". Their brains can only handle two operations, "see guy/shoot guy". It's really a sad condition.

When I am stalking people via helicopter I sometimes send them text messages asking if they want a lift when I see them chased by police.

Most don't reply but a few have gotten a ride from me to evade the cops. I don't always troll...but when I do it's damn fun.

To answer your question - people just like to cause chaos.

You lose money for dying? That provides all the more incentive.

People with anonymity usually enjoy aggravating other players - there's actually a science to it.

I don't typically gun for people - unless they have a $3000+ bounty - but if they target myself or my crew, I'll take them on.

well actually I make a habit of only sending texts to people with mikes. (When in a high speed chase) So i know they can verbally tell me what they want.

And I have picked up a person who I didn't text or communicate with at all. I was following the chase. I hovered low they drove off to a beach area and got out and didn't shoot. So I figured they wanted a ride. Easy as that.

Some things don't need communication, ya know?

I don't usually attack first but if someone kills me I'll attack until I've evened the playing field or 1 upped them.

The first guy to trust me got worried and he jumped out and hit the blades as I made a sharp 'side dip' haha no sh*t

I have never thought of picking up a bounty.

I have a hard enough time with people shooting at my helicopter just for stalking. The bounty heads are paranoid like teenage kids hot boxing in a movie theater parking lot.

Cause I know when I have a bounty on my head (from trolling other players) I shoot on sight. I don't care if we are on opposite sides of the freeway. I'm shootin

I thought the point of online mode was to roll out with your crew and blast people??? But I think there is an invite only mode for or solo for people that don't like to keep an eye on their map.

You do make a good point though. I'm sure R* will come up with some cool way of showing how much money you cost the guys you were killing. You know, for bragging rights and all. Crew kill boards would be awesome.

I play Battlefield, I run around super fast and Defib/heal everyone. Every time I get killed, the enemy gains 100 XP, but I just revived 5 people. Ultimate profit is ultimate.

Seriously though, why the f*ck do some people even bother playing an online game if they gonna bitch any time something doesn't go their way???

I remember a day after GTA Offline was released when I got into a deathmatch, there were people getting legitimately very angry because they were getting shot.

Why do people play videogames to get angry? I don't f*cking know man.

Maybe you can answer your own question? You seem pretty angry!

I kill randoms because if I don't kill them, they'll probably kill me. And, it's fun. Adds some more reality to the world of Los Santos, kill or be killed.

I wasn't at all tho..

This is why I've moved to Grand Senora Desert. The player encounters are far far fewer up there. So when they do occur its more exciting to deal with than annoying. Every time I have to go to that damn city is a displeasure. Its far too intense and you can't move for player killers. I much prefer the more calculated defence that the desert offers you. My crew is the 'Route 68 Ramblers.' I created it so that I could make an emblem for my car. But the motto is 'Its all about getting the wheels to the road.' I mostly enjoy driving in GTA. Killing, as said in OP, is neither profitable or skillful.

Before character deletion you would have found me up on Route 68, robbing the stores, enjoying my car and the roads up there. I take my character's preservation very seriously and if I see a car approaching, I climb a hill and equip my long range rifle. I tell the player I am there and that they can use the facilities and move on peacefully. If I see a weapon pointed in my direction, they get shot. I have my map expanded all the time so I can see people coming a mile off.

It may seem dramatic, but as said, you can not trust anyone and I enjoy taking the game seriously in that respect as it is much better than dying 5 or 6 times a minute in GTA IV and having it not mean a thing. I think I may have killed 10 players since day 1 of Online. All were retaliations after being killed or being fired upon. Save for one gentleman who was bragging of the grief he'd been causing, running around in a jeep ramming people's personal cars, killing sprees, etc. I knew it wasn't his personal vehicle so I lured him out to the desert with some simple taunts, and he got a sticky bomb to the face. That was the only time I've killed without provocation. But he definitely deserved it.

I also had an NPC place a bounty on my head and killed off a number of bounty hunters. But again, that is for self preservation.

there are others, don't worry ;)

the way i see it there's no need to kill other players in freeroam if it's not for self-defense or revenge. there are however a lot of people who disagree and that's just fine, gives it a little extra spice. also, there are enough ways to avoid those guys, if it really gets too annoying.

the thing with gta:o is you always have to watch your back. or have someone watch it ;)

Not a whine, read before you rant.

There's no benefits to killing in Freemode, even for trolls. There's usually only negative effects to the player who was killed, and actually, negative effects to the killer.

Killer effects

Max xp you gain per kill: 100 (I don't even know the minimum because I haven't killed in Freemode, see no reason to)

Sure, maybe this is how you rob a person, I don't see you getting 10k, and even if you use this tactic to farm for cash, your skills stay ultimately sh*tty.

Wasted ammo

Chance to waste extra ammo

Chance to damage or total person vehicle

Victim effects:

Pay Hospital bill

There's no scoreboard so you can gloat, either. So I seriously don't see the point in it. It seems entirely more logical to go back to GTA4 and kill people in Freeroam than here. And no, I've actually never been killed in free roam, shot, yes, but I've never paid any Hospital Bills.

I'm rich. I don't need to worry about ammo. Plus, do you know how to have fun? Killing other plays for the lols is awesum.

wrong, there is a score, every time you kill them, a counter shows on the bottom left what you kills vs the victim are.

and for troll its perfect, as like you put it, it negatively effects the victim.

As far as ammo, so what? ammo is cheap as hell. Rob a store and bam, you can buy about 6 mags for your uzi or w/e

also gaining XP no matter how little is not a bad effect. not exactly the best way to farm, but you literally arent losing anything-you are gaining.

Sometimes if I see someone getting a haircut or shopping for clothes, I stand on the hood of the car and douse it in kerosine. then light it, but just enough pop the tires and damage it.

its fun. plain and simple.

Killing in free roam is hella fun...who gives a crap about all the crap you just said.

Anyone with an IQ over 25.

Freemode is kill or be killed.

It ain't nuthin' but a G thang.

That would be deathmatch.

I don't really see the problem with killing people in free mode. If people really didn't want to be killed, I'm sure they'd use one of the many options available to avoid it.

There's no big downside to doing it, and no real benefit to it either. But the same could be said for the opposite.

The ability to kill other people is just a part of the game and one of the main forms of interaction you can have with other players in free roam mode, choosing to avoid it at all costs is what makes no sense to me.

It's called free roam/free mode, not free kill. It does't make sense to you obviously since you lack just that, sense

Deal with it.

We do, we own your ass then use the report button and send mercenaries after your ass :)

Unless there is a bounty, then freeroam killing is only for assholes and trolls.

Indeed

Maybe you can answer your own question? You seem pretty angry!

A good chopper pilot and a gunner is the best and most enjoyable way to kill other players in Free Roam. If they have a bounty on them, even better, I don't think Free Roam would be any fun if there wasn't a risk of being killed.
