Misleading stats on vehicles

First of all, excuse my English, as I'm not a native speaker (in plus of that, typing on the phone, agh).

Since day one, I decided my main vehicle was going to be a motorcycle. After I got the Nemesis, I bought a garage and cheked the stats of every motorcycle on the screen where you select a ride before a race.

Pegassi Bati: good overall stats, except for acceleration. Doesn't mind, as half of the upgrades improves that stat. So I buy the Bati and head to LSC. I try to get a random upgrade and... the stats are completely different. I have high acceleration, but VERY low... brake? (the third one). So, in the end, I will have overly upgraded acceleration and mediocre or worse brake.


Which stats are more reliable?
tldr: vehicle stats (in the garage, LSC...) differs from those you see selecting a vehicle for a race.

Strange, the only thing i find weird is when modding, THe stats sometimes show a little blue bar on the stats that will be affected by the current mod, you install it... and it gets filled in with white, as it should. But right now, none of the remaining mods seems to do anything to my car. Im only at engine lvl 2, and if i hover the rest of the upgrades, my speed does not get any better, my acceleration is already at full, etc.

 

So i dont know if buying the rest will actually make my car better, or if its just wasted money
