To those complaining about losing their characters

A Russian man once said "hey man, dont get too attatched, learn to let go". Its just a game, play to have fun...and if you are soo concerned about losing your precious avatar, wait a week or so until things are fixed.

I was having fun when I was racing around in my fully customized car. That changed when my "avatar" got lost in the clouds.

One question I have for the "omg my char got deleted" people - are you on PS3?

Serious question, it's just I've been on the XBL version and haven't lost any assets or large money chunks/rank etc or character - been playing (when I could get on) since about 18 hours after the release. Not sure if I got lucky, or if it's a PSN issue??

Perhaps if the progression was equivalent to GTA4's linear advancement, people wouldn't be so distraught over their losses. But you must take in to account that people are putting in a personal sense of investment (Cars, clothes, stats) when they play. Maxing out your shooting or stamina bar is no small feat, and you can't deny the feeling of pride that comes with it. But to come back a day later and find all your progress gone? It's something that'll make you sigh as you go to create a new character.

 

Honestly, I've given up leveling; just imagine you're playing GTA4 and you can do whatever the hell you want, fly a jet into someone's car or something. Nothing will matter much in the coming days anyways.

Once you get to level 40+ and have a lot of money and your character gets deleted, you will probably be a tad bit angry

It's just a game...I paid $60 for. If it was free you have a point, but I paid for it. I expect it to work as intended.
