None of the GTA games have ever had realistic prices or sensible payouts. Worse, all have chump change payouts for 80% of the story and the last 20% gives excess funds. It's always been this way.

Oh look another thread that didn't need bumped.

People look at the dates of these threads before you reply.

This is a good historical reference. People thought prices were high and payouts were low, even back in Oct 2013 before everything got nerfed. Good thing they weren't around for the "free" DLC, with $400-$700K cars or whatever they cost.

Real life is expensive as well - I don't see the problem here.

GTA0 is my second job, and I need a raise. :p

I agree with the OP. I'm pretty sure that if everything was less expensive, nobody would have a reason to glitch and hack in money. 500 dollars for a shirt? Thousands of dollars for a mask that in real life costs like 10 - 100 dollars? Lol, no.

Maybe heists will be the answers to our problems.

I don't see point of purchasing silencer in this game for anything, there is no actual added value of getting it, except it makes a different sound. If it helped you avoid cops or in certain missions if you killed the right people no one noticed the death then I'd say its worth getting it on your weapons. As for the overpriced things, LS customs prices are just a joke thats all I have to say as the markups are just insane and its obvious they have done it to push those cash cards.

The only thing I find expensive here is the horns price, c'mon!! 30,000$ for a horn?

Someone has obviously never been to a clothing store IRL then. last time i checked, a hat doesnt cost $4000

You do realize that you're a hired killer who comes back to life the moment he dies with the capabilities of wiping out entire criminal organizations in less than 15 minutes each time and getting paid thousands of dollars.

If I could take that life I would, I would be settled in less than a week.

-Red_October-

There are definitely some problems with the way prices are structured in GTA V, I'll list a few examples.

Car paint is either way too cheap or grossly over inflated, a standard gloss black paint job in real life would cost around $3,000 (for a good respray). Most of that is labor, metallic paint does not cost that much more, and a standard bottle of pearlescent powder costs around $150, and that's enough for three cars on average. Instead, a basic gloss paint job is $900, a metallic paintjob can range from somewhat cheap to outrageous, and adding pearlescent breaks the bank when it's just some powder added to the paint mix.

Guns and gun accessories are too expensive in general, you are not buying your weapons on the black market, therefore there should be no mark up. An extended 60 round magazine for an AR-15 in real life costs about $100, suppressors vary in price, but are certainly not $3000.

Clothing is questionable, there are items of clothing in real life that command rediculous prices, when they are really the same as any other item of similar build.

When they've added full heists and more missions, you'll most likely be swamped in more money than what you can spend.

Heists.

What about deathmatches and other competitive modes? Silencer is a must have then, unless you are one of those bull in a china shop types that stomps around the map firing unsilenced shotguns and then leaves when we put you down several times in a row.

I have, with others in my crew managed to stealth the first part of missions such as method in the madness - using silenced postols and sticky bombs.

Several missions, where enemies are spread out can have several kills without being detected with a silenced sniper.

If anything, I say that silencers of shotguns should be removed - its ludicrous and over powered. (Yes I use them, no I am not complaining about it, just think its incredibly silly)

(I don't know why my quote didn't work :\)

I just wish I could have a suppressed weapon without having to rob some stores and sell a few Range Rovers for it :(

as a legit player, I still sell Ballar (Range Rovers) when I see them, easy money I have to say

Don't think for one second you're going to make millions of the heists. Rest assured they will be balanced in a way that you might make $40k when it's all said and done, which would only get you a gun and silencer at the current prices.

Two words folks: Cash Cards

Rockstar wants you to buy them, therefor missions will pay low and items will be priced high. It's the reality. No in-game mission, heist, or whatever is going to be a better value then cash cards because its set up to steer players into buying them.

Wow. Bitching about cash cards even before they nerfed payouts.

Funny thing is, you don't need to buy a cash card and no one is being steered to buy them. I've made $11 million, totally legit by just playing the game. This cash cards conspiracy is just total and utter bovine manure.

I wish car mods were a lot cheaper like single player. It costs $25.000 just for a musical horn when on single player it's costs $500 but Rockstar doesn't see the difference.

It's supposed to be expensive you cocksucker, if you wanna be a millionaire play story. GTA Online is supposed to be a much longer version of Scarface, allowing players to eventually reach the top of the crime ladder and the reason cars and stuff cost a lot is to keep you playing and eventually be able to afford them.

Too bad kids don't agree with this and want it to be like san andreas where you can have as much money as you want, pfft.

Let me guess - you're one of those people who, had the previous poster started a thread called "Everything is expensive!" would have jumped in with a "FFS ANOTHER THREAD ABOUT THIS, USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION FFS!!!!". Some posters are just assholes and find a reason to complain about a post and further bump it back to the top rather than just ignore it if it offends them that much. Pretty much every new post ends up with one of the above types of comment from a few members of the local forum police.

$1200 turbo would be crap. Prob be like a gt 2860 or maybe a gtx2860 with no turbine housing.

If the engine is not turbocharged then it would cost $25k to turbo it. You can't just drop a turbo on an engine and make it go "piiish"

*lol at the whining poor* "Let them eat cake"

I assume most of you are new here, or inept. Since the launch of Online in October, I've earned every single dollar of my own accord, despite having to go through the worst of people using exploits and relentlessly griefing anyone like myself that didn't have Rank 100+, with a tank and a full armoured Adder, or Entity in the first month. I didn't have a crew for a month or so, either, so I did a lot of things solo, without the extra RP. If anyone thinks Online is flooded with Twankers Lazars and stickybomb griefers now, you missed the worst of it.

Now I'm in the millions, with 2 characters at a reasonable Ranking of 123 and 80, all rank appropriate weapons and practical upgrades, 2 10-car apartments, with all the vehicles and rank upgrades I want and Pegasus vehicles that matter. I'm earning a little more before I leave my PS3 for a week to go on holidays in another state. When I get back, the cash will be there for whenever I can buy new apartments.

The best part? I love hearing everyone on mic and in forums, that was rolling in the billions and then it was all taken away. I haven't lost a single dollar to Rockstar, and I owe it all to me.

We Are Ninja

I am enjoying the money system, I like that it is hard but not impossible. I won't be buying cash cards and I don't care if I never have the best apartment. It's about the journey, and ranking up, for me at least. I'm sure there will be opportunities later on for players to make huge amounts of money. And then when you have everything, will you keep playing?

THIS.

I just recently wanted to put my crew emblem on a T shirt. I believe it was 20K. Now that I thought was excessive. Not sure if I can put it on any clothing though or just the one shirt. Meanwhile it's free for cars?
