"Automatically saved" my ass.

I put in a few hours earlier today, did some clothes shopping, bought an assault rifle, stocked up my ammo/sticky bombs, collected a few bounties (around 15 grand worth), stole a SUV for my crew, upgraded it, put it in my garage, and I also collected a Special Crate Drop with $9000 and a minigun. I figured I'd call it quits for a bit and go do something else, so I left online through the pause menu, and it gave me the message that "progress is automatically saved" like it always does.

 

I just logged on again, and none of the sh*t I did today is there. My cars aren't in my garage, I have no ammo, no assault rifle, no minigun, no clothes, etc. I have the same amount of money and I'm wearing the same clothes I was when I stopped playing last night. Everything I did today didn't save.

 

Anyone else have this problem?

its called the cloud servers being down, they have been down since early this morning on and off. dont play when there down or you risk losing progress or even your whole character

Thats the reason I always assure the Cloud is on when logging off. You can do that by taking a picture when connected to the social club. If no error occurs you can safely logg off.

That's just the thing though, right before I quit I took a picture of the cars in my garage and it saved on my phone, so I figured cloud was on. Eh, whatever, I know it's not the end of the world, I was just looking forward to f*cking sh*t up with that minigun later, haha.

Cloud has been down all day don’t bother trying

Cloud servers were up & running smoothly for me earlier when my guy got deleted. At least you still have your guy OP.

Yeah, this has happened to me several times the past two days. Last night I spent several hours playing and got to rank 23 with 400k in the bank, I made sure I followed their saving procedures and even restarted several times and my stuff was still there. I logged on earlier today to find that my rank has dropped to 19 and I only have 139k in the bank. Then there were the two-three times before that where I worked from 100k to 200k and lost the progress.

 

It's frustrating, you probably shouldn't bother doing anything serious online until this is all resolved.

I also played BF4 after seeing my character was missing. Even if it's the first Beta, EA servers are running flawlessly.

 

Companies like Rockstar don't realize the money and effort they have to put to manage their servers for Online Gaming.
