Didn't play Diablo III but Sim City was pretty damn bad. Put over a hundred hours into that game so it was fun but I think the first forty or so were just watching my city burn because the traffic/online issues. So depressing to raise a small town to metropolis in 20 hours only to watch a small fire spread forever and engulf the place. Or worse yet a meteor hitting your nuclear power plant

 

GTAO has been fine in my opinion but I've only lost my first character who was only level 5 if I lost my level 20 I'd e pretty mad.

Considering they have more copies of GTA Online in the hands of people than D3, and WoW at its peak I would say no. D3 was sh*t, the servers were sh*t for a month and had maybe 7M people (according to blizzard). A company that had over a decade of online experience (D2/WC2/SC) failed to provide stable service for nearly a month to 7M people.

GTA has over 14M copies sold, it has been out for a couple weeks, its online has been around for 4 days. The potential amount of accounts accessing the networks is higher than even WoW at its peak. A game in itself that took weeks to stabilize from a fraction of that number. It took WoW 8 years to hit 12 million potential people playing. It took GTA V 3 days. Blizzard also has had repeated issues with new content...such as the 2 week period where Ulduar was largely inaccessible to millions of people following its launch in WoTLK. This has lasted 4 days.

This is a company with their first open world quasi massively multiplayer online experience. This isn't just a COD rip off of spam "find match" and it has been 4 days.

To say this is worse than D3 is absurd, to say it is worse than Sim City is a joke, I don't need to be online to play GTA V unlike Sim City that relies on DRM to even play the base game...same goes for D3.

Y'all be sad motherf*ckers if you think this is a bad launch.

BTW, stop spamming the strained servers all f*cking day. I have had 3 days of playtime, when I want to play I play. Maybe I am lucky and get to play when there is less strain. Or maybe there are way to many people in North America with nothing better to do for 8 hours than sit and spam connect to a game they know is having server trouble...then spend filler time bitching about how the game doesn't work.

Me the AUTZ and EUTZ are having a great time. NATZ is just a bunch of whiny kids who are in some illusion plagued world of entitlement. Every online launch in gaming has had issues, from the lowly to the mighty, because you can't predict sh*t when it comes to servers, let alone stress test infant infrastructure for 14 million+ potential clients. Get real.
