Creating character as of now useless ?

So yesterday was the first time i had managed at getting over the tutorial after like 4 character that would just dissapear without me even playing. So yesterday i created my character and it finally appeared it would save it for real, i made it to level 6 amd today when i opened the character wheel my slot was empty.

 

I just created another charcter and made past the tutorial, is it worth it or should i just wait for a patch that will fix it or give us our character back ?

Wait. It's not worth it right now. Mine disappeared, and I made one after the patch. Waif until. R* gives the ok

If you created the latest character in the same slot as the one that was lost, then the one that was lost is now lost forever, whether R* can get our data back or not.

 

In general, it's not worth creating characters.

This, create a character only in slot 2, DO NOT create another in slot 1 as it will appear back eventually when there servers come back up. Restarting your console a few times fixes it for me.

That's because u either created a character in slot 1 after it disappeared and it's permanently gone or the servers are having issues still. Patience, create a char in slot 2 and try playing for awhile than come back to it in a few.

 

It works fine for me, quite a few times I've loaded up Online and brought up the character creation screen with no characters, restarting a few times always does the trick for me (fully restarting the console or logging out of your gamertag than back in).

I've never made a temp/overwrote a character. Always paid attention to that prompt. That's why I asked. I still haven't recovered my characters. I'll take your word for it though.
