Since R* made so much money, they can care less what happens to V now. These fake updates are a sign of that. These updates do absolutely nothing they say they do. Considered innovative and a legend in what he does, but died too young, hated by conservative people with different tastes, just like GTA IV concept died too young and hated by people who didn't like it's "too serious style". Now: Like Eric Clapton. Still considered amazingly good, but not as good as Jimmy Hendrix. Does music for the masses and it's quite good at what he does, but the magic is not there as it used to be. They are some of the best world builders in games and Los Santos and the surrounding area far exceeded my expectations. They are some of the best storytellers in gaming, GTA IV, Red Dead Redemption, and GTA V are definitely ranked up there in my favorite game stories of all time. They are not perfect, never have been, and never will be, so the game having flaws did not surprise me. Overall: They are Rockstar and they're doing what they want to do. --- Unrelated to the topic but related to the conversation going on in the thread: Is it possible to block someone's posts from showing up? Just cause they sell a lot doesn't make it a good game. Call of Duty isn't close to being a good game yet they sell a lot. I miss san andreas and after playing gta v for 2 weeks ive restarted gta san andreas. Gta san andreas can never be topped with the map, story, charecters, music EVERYTHING Gta v has lost some of that gta feel, it doesnt have any feel tbh. Red Dead only came out 3 years ago but that has an amazing feel to it and is now nostalgic like gta sa and gta vc. Gta iv even has bigger gta feel to it (but gta v is better) Gta v however has great charecters and amazing storyline. The fact that they made 1B doesn't mean that they made a god game at all or that their marketing was perfect. With GTA being a best seller with almost every release and the rapidly growing console fanbase it was made impossible for them to not break records. On Topic: My view of R* is that the areas like R* San Diego and most other non-European divisions are doing exceedingly well, but I also feel that Euro divisions like R* North can do much better. When they make a GTA game they are trying to replicate and mock something that you can't understand with a few visits and a few hundred of thousands of pictures. One thing I feel they did bad with was how red-neck sandy shores was. Do they not realize that California isn't a southern state that race bashes people all the time? The people were incredibly over aggressive in the game and for the most part they just stitched a few good games together to make one better one. the 3-character story lacked originality and the endings were predictable. That said, there are certain trends that have popped up dating back to GTA IV that have resurfaced with GTA V. The first is obfuscating what is actually in the games (i.e. implying that things that aren't in the final version of the game will be in the final version of the game, without explicitly stating that such a thing will actually be in the game) and overhyping the games. GTA games certainly deserve a lot of hype, but these subtle implications and the excessive hyping of an already mega-hyped product is the reason so many people end up disappointed, as they were subtly led to believe that something that is not in the game will be in the game. I suffered from this a little bit after GTA IV came out, but expected certain aspects of the game I expected to be in there to be left out this time, and therefore did not deal with disappointment. R* sets themselves up for this. The second is their poor organizational skills. Always with the delays (the upside to this, of course, is that R* goes the extra mile in terms of releasing a finished product with as few bugs as fiscally possible [GTA Online being the lone exception], unlike the guys who make the Skyrim and Fallout series. We all know that this is not the only reason for delays, however). Case in point is the information drought that occurred after the game was announced. That is some barely competent sh*t right there. Additionally, lower level R* employees have been known to complain about significant mismanagement and poor working conditions. Still my favorite games studio, but let's not pretend they are free of significant issues and do not participate in somewhat unethical behavior from time to time. I see all Rockstar Studios to be a team of experienced developers who pour nothing but hard work and dedication into all their games, each game becomes more ambitious, which is what I expect to see from a games developer.
