GTA 5 PS3 Deleted my Character?!?!?

Seriously? There are literally pages of threads about characters being lost all over the forums. Does anybody take ten seconds to look or just go straight for the "New Topic" button?

I had a level 16 character with $149,000.
I logged in today after downloading the patch, and my character is removed, but my $ is still there at least.
