Unable to change aim settings

Hellos guys, when ps3 was down I could join a private session to play. When I joined my aim setting was changed to free aim. Now I'm in another lobby, which I joined trough a race and now I can't change my aim setting backm to auto anymore. When i go to settings the aim settings is dark grey and can't focus on it. It doesn't matter in which lobby I am because I tried like 5 lobbys already. Anyone know how to change this? Please I can't do any missions like this.

You have to change it when playing offline and it will automatically change it for online as well ;)

I think you'll play against players with free aim only. Several times I joined a friend who's using free aim and before joining the session I got a message saying that a different targeting mode is used in this session and if I join, my targeting mode would automatically change as well.
