Cloud Servers unavailable

about half an hour ago, I was surprised to see that my rank 21 character had disappeared.

 

I was told to go to singleplayer, start, online, choose character.

 

Now it says the Cloud Servers are unavailable.

 

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

 

Is there a site where Rockstar gives updates to server issues?

im having the same problem (xbox) i hope to god my character isnt gone ive worked so hard for the things i have earned:(

Don't jump to conclusions if you can't connect to the cloud.

According to R*:

 

Note: When the Rockstar Cloud Services are unavailable, you are given the option to still play online on disc-based content (rather than R* Cloud content). You are asked to confirm before entering Multiplayer whether you would like to play on a temporary character, without the ability to save. If you confirm this option, please note that none of your old characters will be available for that play session, and the temporary character you create will not be saved. If you want to make sure the characters you create are saved, you should not proceed into GTA Online when the R* Cloud Servers are unavailable. Even if the services come back up while you are playing on a temporary character, that character will not save -- you would need to return to Single Player and re-enter GTA Online to load your non-temporary characters and resume playing with the ability to save progress.

OP you can look at the other 15 posts about this issue at the moment? ...same thing happened to me, got on here and saw about 15 post of the same thing with all the info you need to know what's going on

ok WTF? i was getting the cloud servers unavailable but now i'm getting the character selection screen again and i have $180k in the bank. i had $65k as of my last save and a new apartment that i bought a few hours ago. if i lost another f*cking character, i'm gonna lose it.

we are all speaking like we are experienced. Were stuck in a bubble of theories and opinions until rockstar decides to address this issue once again.

I spent a few minutes spamming SQUARE until I didnt get the cloud server error.... character still gone.

Oh yes, same error maybe because of the weekend servers are overloaded. my character thankfully is not deleted as I can still see its stats in the wheel. I have lost 3 characters two after lvl 10. Since gtaO launch I have spent more time making character & trying to connect than playing the game.
