I did everything Rockstar said to do to prevent losing my character but I lost it anyway. Rockstar seriously needs to fix the servers now. This is just ridiculous. They are NOT broken as long as you are doing everything right. I've seen a person who is rank 50, and he hasn't lost his stats at all since Online release. Ok... how do you do everything right then? Yes please tell, i've switched my DNS ti 8.8.8.8 and secondary to 8.8.4.4 and was able to connect (xbox) but i still got kicked about 20 or so mins ago. It has nothing to do with your connection. When you enter Online, make sure you create a character while the cloud servers are on(A message will pop up saying that they are offline, so press retry until you are in). From there, always use your character wheel to get into Online and only play off cloud servers to make sure you don't lose your stats. If you press "Ok" while they are down, make sure not to create another character or you will lose your original stats. Don't blame Rockstar if you lose your stats, since it's you who is responsible of making sure that you do everything right. You're only half right about this, but there is something wrong with it even when you do everything right. I made it to level 27, in 2 days, about 6 sessions, meaning turning off my ps3 for at least 2 hours, and coming back, it's all erased. Was this before or after the update? Before and After the update I was 25, it had saved just fine, made it to level 27, turn it off, a few hours later, level 1, I'm the character creater to scared to go any further just in case it comes back. Sylis.coyl Posted October 6, 2013 Share Posted October 6, 2013 They literally have millions of players making new characters repeatedly accessing the cloud servers so you can imagine the congestion. My theory is there are millions of character save requests just jammed into their servers every minute. There have been reports that this morning has received the most traffic since launch and though I feel for the people who are losing data, I know Rockstar is hard at work on fixing the complications and are trying to make sure everyone's online plays smoothly. sofakingevill 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I guess I'm going to discontinue playing GTA V online until Rockstar manage to fix all of these persistent issues. It's becoming ridiculous. I did all of this, and my character still vanished and I have not played a single second of Online since, so I haven't made a new character. Still gone for over 24 hrs. So i went back online and it asked me to make a new character. thought f*ck this and went offline for a bit. went back online then it loaded me up into free roam with a character that looked nothing like my character. Before my social club stats and picture had gone...now they have returned but i'm back to rank 1. However my character still looks nothing like mine. That's what's so frustrating. Incidentally, I could spend a long time telling you how cloud servers work and develop you a system from scratch. How does that help me in GTAV?
