Why do I keep losing ranks!?

Last 3 times i've played have been long sessions where i've ranked up significantly... I leave the session through the 'leave gta online' option, so it should save yet still my rank drops back down?? about to quit this piece o sht

maybe the servers were offline when it was saving

The cloud is still messed up. It's been having issues for the past 12 hours or so.

 

If you want to be sure you aren't losing progress, periodically take at least a few pictures and see if they save, if you have issues with at least one, then there's a problem with the cloud and it'l be likely that progression won't save either.

it still acknowledges my race wins during those sessions though I dont get it

Its their servers catching up likely from all the service.. Its all saved on a new found thing called a cloud and yeahh, i wouldn't trust it!

Don't wworrry your not the only one this happens to, I have at least plus 5 levels lost easy and maybe 50K i can't recall, But when you launch just make sure your not skipping whatever it tells you because i know some noobs who's played without making sure it saves their data and to no surprise they wonder what happened, Now if you did make sure not to skip the start up text that says you might not save during this play though and everything seems to check out and it STILL happens then again... faulty cloud saving.


I've had it happen less to me because everytime i log off i switch to singleplayer because i know it'll save once i do that, Its even said it in all there helpful hints Tho it won't always save your saves hahahaa it all goes back to the clouds, cash cards and.. the big R.

Wow, nothing like the helpful dick comment. I've lost many characters the first few days, lots of RP and tons of cash, and I still have no reason to be a dick to some one else for not suffer as bad as I did. So why don't you save your BS if you don't have anything helpful to add. And I don't think that's complaining, it's probably called being frustrated and turning to the forum for help. So be a good neighbor or gtfo.

 

As to the original poster, it may simply be a cloud issue. They are still working on it, and my advice is not to invest to heavily in your char for a while, ie: no big houses, car mods, clothes... basically don't spend to much cash until you're sure it's working. I have lost many characters, but the last 2 days it seems to be holding. It may be related to when you created your char, like if before a certain date, they may have to wipe them. I made a new char 2 nights ago, and it's lasting(after losing many in the first couple days). But a friend that made one like 4 days ago(a day or two before my recent/current char) just lost his yesterday after the patch. Although yesterday there was a long period where you could save or view pictures. Give it time... I'm sure they'll work on it. Don't give up yet. What Major Online title hasn't had some huge issues... plus it's open-world so there's lots to sync up when we all play together.

thanks, yeah I learned not to spend my money few days ago when the apartment i bought dissapeared haha, I'm going to quit every hour and save to be safe
