So far which one do you prefer and why? IMO SP is pretty epic and I'm loving it but damn Online is pretty good and fun too (at least when it works)... but nothing can top the SP mode

SP, it simply has more freedom (everything is cheaper, more money, cheats and no other players to harass you) plus i could play as 3 well developed characters rather than a random avatar for multiplayer.

Bit too early to say I think, but so far, SP.

The single player is just an amazing experience imo. There are some things that could be better but it's really worth a 10 on it's own.

Multiplayer is decent enough but it seems my antisocial nature extends into the gaming world as most of the time, I'd rather be alone.

The deathmatches and races are pretty fun but they get old fast for me. Free mode just sucks though. The map seems barren and empty compared to SP's and there seems like nothing to do other than get shot by a bunch of hooting kids. I do like the idea of missions but from what I've played so far, they seem like a bunch of bland fetch quests. I'd still like to do them but I'd rather do them on my own which is pretty difficult. The character creator is just downright awful and even though I managed to finally make a bloke that didn't look retarded, like TheTechPoTaToCHIP said, I'd rather play as Mike, Frank and Trevor.

As I said though, it's early days. I appreciate what R* are trying to do and I'm hoping once Online finds it's feet, we'll see some improvements. I don't want them to forget about SP though, some updates and DLC would be nice.

I don't like playing games alone and I never have. I'm already done with singleplayer (100% complete and did everything else in the game including all the side missions that don't count for 100%) but GTA Online is an endless feature. Its just unfortunate that it doesn't work right now.

TBH, Im not really liking MP. Im at level 23 and so far none of the jobs I have done have been fun. Also factor in that there are very little pedestrians and most of the people on free roam are either doing a job or in passive mode, makes for some lousy gameplay. Maybe I will start liking it more later on, but certainly right now its subpar

I prefer single player in GTA but Rockstar has f*cked it up in V and it's no fun. They have taken features out from it and made them exclusive in GTAO. They don't care about SP anymore...it's all GTAO this GTAO that.

Single Player by far IMO, played online couple of times and already bored, probably because its so glitchy, slow and hardly ever works but I can't see me playing online as much as single player which I am still enjoying.

Although Single Player is boring after I beat the game, I'll chose it over MP because at least I can f*ckin play it on a regular basis without the worry of losing all my progress

There should be an option "none! Both of them s*ck" I know you love GTAV for what it is, but i''m not and have right to express it the way i want!...so deal with it, before you flame me with your "spoiled brat..." responses and curses...

If you hate the game so much why are you in this particular part of the forum and why are you showing your hatress you have for the game in here? Its stupid, its like going into the middle of rednecks and screaming "rednecks suck"... Why dont you go play sh*t row 1 or 2 (you said you like those games in a post so you are obviously a SR fan and gta is not for you) and get out off this section.... Edited by marizzocos

About the stuff being cheaper in SP, I don't think thats true. I think it feels cheaper because you get money way easier but it still costs more. I still think GTAO is really fun because fortunately I have not run into any of the major glitches like you guys have.

Check the dates. This dude called it 5 days into GTA Online. A modern day Nostradamus.

I like Single player much better because it feels ultimately more alive, the graphics feel better, and no toxic try hard spawn killing me oever and over just for the hell of it.

In story mode you can pause the game but in GTAO you can't so you can fail in a mission in GTAO when your grandma calls you to wash the dishes and do the laundry, but GTAO has thousands of cars more than story mode and they are way better and you can attempt lots of heists. I choose GTAO.

the cars thing is because R* doesn't want to put them in SP

Story mode all day every day, particularly director mode when it comes to this game (I love being able to control the time/weather, spawn cars, turn on invincibility and disable wanted levels). I don't hate online, though normally I'll only play it in a private session. All in all story mode just feels more alive, has better graphics/textures, no lag, no 12-year-olds out to ruin your day, etc. I've always preferred GTA as a singleplayer experience as that's typically what it was when I grew up with it; I prefer games like Battlefield when it comes to multiplayer. However, I am very sad that the most recent radio stations added to online haven't been added to story mode like the others, and seeing as how it's been over three months since they were introduced, it doesn't seem like they ever will be. It's a real shame because there are a bunch of songs I absolutely love, particularly on Kult FM. I understand their refusal to add new cars and the like as they make a solid chunk of change off them, but the least they could do is allow everyone access to the new stations.

the same happened with LSUR after after hours.

it was only in online, but in the update after, they added it to SP as well.

it´s just bc they wanted to dripfeed them, and to do that, they just blocked it in SP.

i am very certain that the next DLC will add it to SP too

Never touched GTA:O and never will - the amt. of crap about it I've read from the time I bought this game (in 2015) has not abated.  For all it quirks/issues, the story and characters strike the right balance between serious & light-hearted - it's like SA, only with a different spin and slightly more depth to it.  Graphics are phenomenal too (unlike GTA IV, V ran buttery smooth on my PC while it still had my ancient GTX 285 SC)
