In GTA IV, many players just played free roam. Structered games feels like missions. I can do those for the game. I wanna feel for othe rplayers skill(only applicable to free aim). Most people are saying the game isnt competitive. It is in FA.

 

Its fun to cruise around doing drive bys on people. In AA you cant do that because theyll shoot you right out of your car in a half a second.

 

So playing free roam with AA on is TOTALLY pointless and boring. Play wiht FA and its competitive and fun.

 

Unfortunately R* made it so that when you have FA as your preference and you join a friend in an AA room, it changes your preference to AA and you have to go back to single player to change it back to FA.

 

You use AA to do missions and play FA in free roam. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more fun. But most people have yet to discover this.

While I don't think there shouldn't be chaos in free roam, bounties do a good job of keeping it contained.

Naw im gonna love bounties once i have all the weapons. Me and my home boy are gonna decimate FR rooms. You dont know what fun it is because

a. you probably play with free aim and free roam is pointless with AA beacuse you cant ever shoot a guy standing there not moving in a car because he has AA.

b. No players are full ranked up yet. Come play FA where hte ballers ball when i have all the weapons. Ima have 14 dudes trying to kill me.

 

sh*t is gonna be fun. Did the same in GTA IV but you had to spend time colleting ammo, now i can just buy it so its gonna be a f*ckin blood bath.

I disagree, i use FA in missions so they don't go so quickly and seem like just another quick job to earn a bit of money, i spend most my time in missions against the computer with my crew or personal friends in FA, then when in free roam i casually drive to the clothes store or the pay & spray or where ever and relax a little.

 

I was gonna say R* should make a mode where you can do that, drive around a shoot everyone you want to, but i guess that's what the 'good sport' system does, after a whole day of playing i hardly came across anybody that was hostile towards me in freeroam if we drive by each other 9/10 times we would just kinda honk at each other and carry on with our own sh*t, might sound boring to you but that's the way i enjoy GTAV, and i guess a lot of other people do to!

Thanks to the idiots who got every other feature dumbed down just for them, the purpose of freeroam is to not interact with any other player at all.

I am struggling to find a purpose to play free roam too. Like, we're not supposed to shoot at eachother and blow up eachothers cars? So what should we do? Drive past eachother and honk? Wow, that's alot of fun. Why do fun games get dumbed down so much as not to hurt eachothers feelings?

Free roam in it's current form is worthles beyond shopping and getting to missions. When you want to cause chaos - you're labeled as a bad sport. When you get killed because of other players - you lose a ton of cash. It's not fun at all.

Sorry boxman, but i just fail to see the fun in wasting cash dying every 5 minutes when you're actually trying to progress online. Sure, i can understand the occasional driveby or mugging another player or whatever, but when i initially started playing i only had about 4 or 5k but no ammo, some player started running me over and gunning me down and chasing me around the map, at this point i didn't realize you could start a new session or whatever, but my cash was literally depleted to $0 and all i had on me was an empty gun.

 

If you want to be a 'bad sport' there's not exactly anything wrong with that cause you just get put in lobbies with other guys that want to do the same thing, at least the people that want to cruise around and not get dead every 5 minutes can actually enjoy the game the way they want to, and there's nothing wrong with that either right? not everyone wants to play games the same way and there's obviously enough people that want to play it more relaxed for them to introduce this feature

What else would you call it? Realistically they've just divided players into two categories, like i said before, there's nothing wrong with being a bad sport, it's just the label they have used to define two types of players

The problem is that the game discourages killing and dying with it's medical fee system. Killing and dying was fun in GTAIV's multiplayer, cause it had no real consequences - you just had to collect the guns all over agan. And here maybe you do keep your guns, but it costs a big pile 'o cash, and it's not all that easy to come by here.

Is gta a game that rewards you for killing, stealing, and blowing stuff up or is it a game that rewards "good sports"? at this point I'm not quite sure.

The problem people don't seem to realize is the whole "bad sport" thing isn't designed as another server. You're blocked from being able to play with friends who may not necessarily also be "bad sports" and from what I hear you are actually banned from playing with anyone for 2 real time days. If it was just a seperate server you could choose like in RDR it would be fine.
