Developers Need to Stop Mixing Single Player Into Multiplayer

We're simply not at that point where we can successfully integrate characters straight out of a single player game into a multiplayer landscape.

 

I can't tell you how irritating it is to have Simeon call me, the game FORCE me to answer mid-liquor store robbery, and have to sit through an ultimately meaningless cutscene that adds NOTHING to the experience, also considering your character lacks speech abilities.

 

Meanwhile, I've got a friend waiting around for me as a two to three-star pursuit ensues, whilst I waste 30 seconds standing around motionless.

 

To have to sit and watch as these characters practically have conversations with themselves is cringe-worthy.

 

And the character creator? Don't even go there. Grandparents and Parents? The hell?

 

Keep character interactions restricted to perhaps an introductory cutscene and phone calls(initiated by a player in search of jobs), and we're gold. I've gotten ZERO out of the pointless story aspect of Online. On the other hand, I'm having a blast playing with my friends, because after all, this is Grand Theft Auto multiplayer.

 

And in a multiplayer game, all that really matters is, you guessed it, playing with other players.

Press B/Circle to not accept the call...yes it's also annoying
