Those were the days, huh? When you could drive up on a sidewalk and mow down twelve pedestrians, whenever you felt like it, or find a nice cozy spot to snipe yuppies and beach babes, secure in the knowledge that you could gun the poor bitches down for a good forty, fifty seconds before the police responded and ruined your fun. Still, I guess it's good that, now, the cops are so twitchy and the chases so difficult to end that bumping into a single pedestrian will result in a ten minute four-star chase that ends with you getting shot to death through your car windshield in two hits from a SWAT officer despite having full health. You know, because realism, or something.

 

And I know what some of you are thinking. You're thinking, hang on, that can't possibly be good! But let me tell you, you ungrateful little consumers, Rockstar did a bang up job with the way they balanced this game. Don't you dare say you wish there were pay and sprays or you wish that the authorities wouldn't instantly know you were the culprit when you use a silenced pistol to light a gas trail in the middle of the woods. Because that would mean you're old-fashioned and grumpy and you just don't get Rockstar's VISION, maaaaan! GTA is a series about OBEYING THE LAW and wrestling with EXISTENTIAL DILEMMAS, and if you don't make moral choices you should EXPECT to suffer the consequences, swiftly and without mercy!
