Howto join friend

Silly question.

 

But out of curiosity if i get or my friend gets a mission from the phone contacts such as lamar etc. How do i join or invite them to the same mission as mine?

go ahead and accept the mission then it should put you in a lobby format. from there randoms will join you, and all you have to do is invite friends by inviting them just like you would any other game. Go to friends list and find the person you want. Invite to game. might be slightly different from console to console but still pretty much the same idea.
