I wish they would delete this horrible game mode, we already have deathmatch is freemode since all most people seem to do is shoot eachother, why is everyone so obsessed with deathmatch? Especially with auto aim on it's possibly the most pointless thing ever, stop voting for it in the lobbies unless you learn to use free aim dickheads.

Yeah nobody votes for missions and races especially. What can we do about this? Play with friends in private room..

I've heard that if you set your SP game to "free aim", you'll be mathced with other "free aim" people online. Haven't tried it yet, though.

If you want free aim lobbies go back to single player and change it to free aim then go back into GTAO and you will only join free aim rooms

Well i did this and got put into freemode with everyone using free-aim and some kid started whining on the mic telling the host to change it back to auto-aim so i don't know if the game does it randomly or whatever..However when i had free aim on i couldn't find one single person in the race/mission jobs, i always ended up being the host with a empty room after searching a job so i switched back to auto aim because thats where the players seem to be at..

I actually HATE that freemode has turned into a deathmatch... it's really childish. You can't do any mission, or go to any clothing shop without having some griefer waiting to snipe you. It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't cost me $1800 everytime I get killed.

why not just go under the jobs tab and just choose races? it'll put you in a lobby of people who want to race as well.

Hmmm... interesting. I'll have to try when I get home tonight. I'm starting to REALLY dislike the auto-aim thing as well - it boils things down to a reflex contest about who can pull the lock-on trigger first. Weak.

Deathmatch is not playable right now because you lose $2000 every time you die in a deathmatch. Who would play it with penalties like that. I understand the medical bills in every other game mode, but not in deathmatch.

I love death matches.. Killing people in free roam is pointless.

 

 

Besides, playing well in death match nets a good lump of cash.

That's bogus advice. I use free-aim and have friends who use auto, and we can join the same sessions/matches/etc..

yes but you're being a smart ass and not mentioning where it gives either of you a message saying the session you're joining has a different targeting setting which is what I get when I Join my friends sessions which also changes your aiming to the that setting until you decide to change it back in SP mode

I don't know why people are saying that no one races - they're mostly what I've been doing. Most lobbies I join tend to do 1-3 races for each deathmatch they do. The helicopter races, in particular, are epic and awesome. And they tend to pay pretty well too - I was racing with 10 others last night, and the winner would get something like $5000. Even in 8th, I'd win like $1400.

 

Races are where it's at, right now.

^This.. That's sooo freakin stupid that it costs money to die in Death Matches. Its the only reason I stick to mostly races and jobs at the moment.

With the new patch I was getting killed in missions and not having to pay for healthcare.

What ever aiming preference the host is using is the setting for that particular server. I saw this on the Rockstar website.

You suck at free aim because you rely on auto aim. Its not about being pro. Its about being man enough to take off the training wheels and learn how to play. Unless cheating with auto aim that gives the illusion of playing like a pro is what you like?

Racing is only annoying when you get idiots who host weapons then it becomes twist of metal people shooting out tires and stuff using rocket power ups but nonetheless if I want to unlock turbo I must win the number of races required to unlock it...

I'll have to double-check, but I don't think that's been happening to me. I get charged for every death in a mission, but not a deathmatch, as far as I know. That would be crazy - you can easily die 5 times or more in a deathmatch. Again, I'll check, but I don't remember my total $ dropping (and I've played a lot of DMs).

 

On missions, however, I've DEFINITELY had that happen. I did an EPIC mission with 15 others, basically a capture the flag type thing. It was awesome - cars blowing up everywhere, people dying all over the place, and after about 10 mins of this, I finally manage to grab the briefcase and make a run for it. I make it back to the base - I'm all excited - we win! So I get the victory screen - and I've won a grand total of $2000. Ugh.. less than a race. But then I notice that my bank account has dropped by $15000 - all because every time I respawned, I was charged $1800. It's completely insane. I'd love to do more missions, but I can't afford to - they cost too much money!!!

And yes, I can confirm they have removed the death penalty from races and deathmatches

The guy above said it changes your settings. I have never seen that message, but if what he is saying is true, then that would be reasonable.

Sorry but I've had fun on the deathmatch mode and wouldn't want it to go away anytime soon, although an alternative for players wanting 'free aim' should be an available choice for higher ranked players.

free aim 1 shot to the head with any weapon instant death...

Auto aim waste a clip on moving targets and promotes camping...

I disabled the autoaim function on 17 sept when doing the prologe in gta5. I would never change back to autoaim. So I have played online now up to level 11 and i havent noticed any player using autoaim in freeroam or in any mission, race deathmatch.
I am not good at aiming but the game expereince goes way much higher and are more challening and rewarding so if you have problem with freeaim, give it a good chance, say a few levels/hours of gameplay and i Think you will come and like it.

 

I have also noticed the message when replying to jobb invites that they are using a nother aiming system. And i ALLWAYS decline thoes invites. allways :)
