staying with friends

So I am sure this has been asked, but I searched and did not see a thread to I will ask here. Is there anyway to stay in a server with friends after you finish a job without the chance of getting split up.

 

Last night was really my first night being able to put some time in online and it was frustrating to say the least. When I could connect to my friends (which was not very often) it was to do jobs. Now as I understand it once you start a job it takes you out of the server you are in and when you are done the job it puts you into another server. Now my issue is last night whenever we were done and went back into say free roam 4 out of 5 times I was put into a different server than my buddies.

 

Is there anyway to assure you stay with your friends when you re-enter the GTAO world after a mission? I will say we did try to start a friend only sessions and that did not seem to help at all. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For now, be glad that you don't get the "Unable to access"-message, that most other people get when trying to join friends.

Oh, trust me I get that plenty...hence last night being my first real night that I was able to successfully get on. Hopefully this is part of the apparent patch we will be getting today on the 360. Maybe some PS3 users can chime in since they got the new patch.

Well here it always puts me back into the private lobby together with my friends.

Are you on the PS3 or Xbox? Also, are you all picking free roam after you finish your mission? I know the one time it put me in a different server was when everyone picked free roam and I accidentally picked another job, but there are times when we all pick free roam and 3 of the 4 of us go to one server (that seems to be full) and the last person gets split up.
