PS3 Post 1.02 Freezing during Lamar driving scene.

Has done this since launch periodically, but was able to get to the legendary blue ring most times.

 

Fresh character, watching the cutscene for the 30th time, I can predict exactly which 3 or so times the textures will spazz out and freeze everything other than the classic Kausion track bumping [i thought I was the ONLY person who actually bought their album back then.] I was able to hear another player coughing into his mic [probably a cold] so I know I had connectivity. Just rebuilt PS3 database, deleted all data and am reinstalling now. Hopefully this is some kind of network entry glitch or my install was corrupted due to 9-50 restarts thanks to the obsessive attempts to bypass the tutorial.

 

Just dropping a note because I have seen quite a few folks out there freezing during this damned cutscene, you are not alone! Will be installing on my second PS3 later today just to test.

I tried deleting the patch and it worked normally for me. The only problem I have now is that for some reason my PS3 won't offer me to download the new patch

Appreciate that, fresh install did NOT help, however it got a TINY bit further through the cutscene before textures glitched and froze. Maybe my machine is getting too hot. Cleaned the lense not long ago. I recall deleting the update and trying again might have helped earlier today when I was able to trudge through a couple freezes and get to the race start. Unfortunately losing my character has me trying to brute force through this cutscene. I know I'll be fine if I can make it through one more time.

That's strange... Have you of course deleted the 1.01 update and restarted the whole console and tried? What am I saying, of course you have. Maybe shut off modem/router for a minute or 3? That SHOULDN'T have anything to do with it but stranger things have happened.

I am IN THE GAME!!

 

I simply deleted the 1.02 update, redownloaded it and started the game with my PS3 in the vertical position and sure enough... SOARED right through the texture freezing glitch.
