San Fierro and Las Venturas technically possible on Current-Gen?

Would PS3 and 360 handle the game if R* decided to include the other cities? The development would have been much longer, of course.

The massive draw distance in GTA V means the map would have been about 6 or 7 times larger (in my opinion), otherwise you would see all three cities / the lights of all three cities from Mt. Chiliad.

Just imagine they would have had enough time to develop GTA V with the whole state with love&detail in every single corner... Is that possible on current-gen?

And what do you guys think: WHY didn't they include the whole state? Would it take too much time or was the old hardware the reason for that? :)

i think its possible, eventually they should release the cities as a dlc and we may not be able to drive to those cities but we may be able to a fly to the city from LS Airport.

I believe they ran out of time and resources.. It's nice in mp how everyone sticks to the city which does give me reason to second guess my judgement, but in sp, everything beyond ls seems like wasted space.

Either way they pushed the boundaries for the current gen as we know it.

Who knows but, maybe they were runnin low on ideas for vi and just decided we'll save the rest of s.a for the future.

Definitely possible, but extremely unlikely on current tech. Not because they couldn't handle it, but I can't see them developing things in such a grand scale on an outgoing generation. I suppose it's not beyond the realms of possibility that they could give Liberty City a lick of paint and use the assets they already have and have air travel between the two, but as for the rest of SA, I can't see it.

Would be cool though!

When R* team was discussing about GTA V, the other two cities must have been open to debate.

There is a reason Los Santos isn't necessarily a huge city, or San Andreas a huge map in terms of actual size. Rockstar knew that running a HUGE map would have been very difficult with consideration to GTAO. Smaller is better in this case. So with that in mind, I find it very difficult to believe two additional cities would be added at a later time. Don't get your hopes up.

I don't think we will ever see another GTA game pull off what San Andreas did. There would have to be some sacrifice somewhere, even on next gen because GTAO is the priority now and most likely forever will be. Features wouldn't reach their maximum potential if they tried to cram 100-150+ square miles or more of land area. Single player campaigns are becoming a thing of the past across the board, not just as far as Rockstar is concerned. There are just too many people that would much rather play an online multiplayer experience.

I also would not be surprised if one day a GTA arrives that is online only, perhaps then you may be able to play in multiple cities based on what lobby you connected to / character demographic choices, etc. But we're probably talking a generation after next.

Honestly even looking back at SA, you can see that Los Santos was far more detailed overall block-for-block than San Fierro or Las Venturas.
