Rockstar never mentioned that characters would be restored in this new patch. What you seem to be forgetting is that even though it looked as if your Character was 'deleted'. It wasn't. It was stored on the Cloud storage.
Your character still existed, even if it didn't show, it was still on the Server.

Now if you are of the impatient fa**ots on this site that thought "f*ck I'll make a new character and grind my ass off for hours again" - It's your fault. This would overwrite the current slot at any chance given when it connected to the Cloud Server, and would result in your previous Character that could not load to being wiped.

So please, stop moaning. Make a new character and play, or continue with your constant whining and bitching.

Grow a set of balls, and move on.

How am I a Hero, when I'm not saving anybody? Learn the meaning of a word before you use it.

Players whom submitted tickets to Rockstar support were sent an email saying they are aware and reference this patch as a solution to the issue regarding character deletion... Saying they are saved somewhere on the Cloud servers is an optimistic outlook, however the fact of the matter is a majority may have just become corrupted in some way shape or form, maybe something else happened that is making them irretrievable, I have no idea tbh. I hope that you're right, I'm not creating a character in that slot for that sole belief alone, however again, seems like pure optimism and nothing else.

Here is the contents of the email sent to me after I submitted a ticket about my deleted character, so you can understand the confusion...

We are aware of these types of issues with GTA Online, and we are currently working on a title update for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 to address commonly reported issues with GTA Online. We hope to have it out for download as soon as tomorrow.

For me I didn't touch a thing I kept on waiting but still my character isn't back. I didn't touch the slots. Desperate now don't know what to do. Since I didn't touch any slots and did smth new there is still a slight chance for me to get it back but I reallty don't know when will that happen and how

Only overwritten my 1st charater, it was lvl10 whereas my slot 2 was 18 when i lost it. That way i should stil gain money for when my 2nd one comes back.

Have my lvl 14 guy and apparently the money I had left after buying some sh*t garage in grapeseed, but not my garage. But if it keeps going and I don't lose anything else, I'll call it a win. If R* ran the government, the shutdown would be fixed in a few days. I'm satisfied, I guess
