WTF! NEW PATCH HAS f*ckED UP MY PS3! WTF R*, OH GOD

My ps3 is not working at all now. It has completely frozen. I had to pull the plug in order to restart my ps3.

 

What's worse? All my single player saves have disappeared. I was nearly 70% done with the narrative. I-I'm in shambles now. Screw you rockstar.

Yo NEVER pull the plug on your PS3. If it becomes unresponsive you do an emergency crash shutdown by holding the powerbutton down for 30 seconds. It seems like forever but holding it down long enough turns the ps3 off from a crash state.

The exact thing just happened to me too..I had to pull the plug for the first time on a brand new PS3,

I pluged it back in and didnt do anything, the red light is on. Im just gunna wait till 2morrow.

Maybe its cause there so many players trying to download it all at one time.

I am also staring at a black screen for the last 10 minutes after trying to do the update. this sucks!

I just downloaded/installed it just fine. Loading up my game now, everythings seems pretty normal...

I pulled the plug when it froze on the update, Turned it back on and it worked fine, Sitting online in passive mode typing this atm. Stop being such drama queens, I have had to pull the plug out when it froze many times.

All I know is that you should never pull a plug on any system... there´s always a risk of losing data stored on your main storage device as pulling your plug does interrupt write/read processes of your HDD -> thus causing corrupted sectors.

NEVER pull a plug on a running System. NEVER.

I wonder what kinda game gta v was back in spring when they tried to release it then I've read too much of these patches making things going from bad to worse I've denied all of the patches so far till they get it right if they ever do.

Download and install went smooth and quick (approx 1 minute)

No problem connecting to GTAO or whatsoever

 

And indeed, NEVER pull the plug from your PS3.... or you must fancy having a dead PS3 around

Pulling the plug out was the only solution for me, Holding the button did nothing. Plug pulling will only affect your data if you are saving or loading, When you are downloading it won't do anything but cancel the download.

So... your PS3 is fine, you just corrupted the data. Irrelevant title, and someone corrupted their saves and blames someone else. Typical 13 year old.

To be honest i haven't a clue but i started the game before connecting to psn and it worked.

my characted never returned!

All you have to do is wait until you hear the R* intro before you accept the update. Worked for me and I've seen a few others report the same.

TL;DR - Don't get update happy, give it 10-15 before accepting it.
