FFS, keeps getting worse. Can't even turn the console off by its button, gotta disconnect the power cable.

 

It happened to me too but I was able to turn it off by holding down the power button. Always better to do that than to turn it off by pulling out the cable. You'll brick your PS3.

It was all going so well, and then I completed Gerald's mission and now i'm stuck in the overhead view and the game has crapped out.

 

For. f*ck's. Sake.

GTAIV on the PC was a similar story. Every patch they brought out created a plethora of new issues. Which is understandable because PCs are much more varied than consoles. Never would have expected this on consoles though. Will be a good few more patches before the game is stable. And R* is planning on adding loads of things via updates and DLC...which will require more patches.

Wait a bit before you press okay. I just installed the PS3 update successfully

This actually worked waited like 1min before pressing ok and no problem thanks man

patch works guys!! i was playing gta online 2 days ago, and the only problem i had was when i lost my lv 16 charecter, but since the patch, ive noticed the game speed has picked up, i can turn my ps off without worrying about losing my charecter.gtao, is fcking amazing btw

For PS3 users having freezing issues and needing to unplug at the socket:

 

Cancel the update upon initial load, and go into story mode. Then, sign into online manually and download the update upon prompt from there. My friend told me it worked for him, and to back him up it just worked fine for me as well haha.

Edit: wow... can't even get the updates right. For me it just froze my PS3. T.T

cant even install update on 3rd try and keeps freezing my ps3 have to disconnect power cable and i cant even play single player cant do missions or switch characters

 

edit: actually worked for me after waiting to press ok after gunshots

I can't connect to the cloud. Whenever trying to do anything online related (join match, choose character, etc.) it just jumps straight to the cloud error. Anyone else getting this?

 

I was fine to play last night, but after waking up and dl'ing patch I can no longer connect.

Gah.

 

So yesterday during the day I had some luck and was able to get some time in....only to find my char missing today. At least I was able to keep the 30k I had banked so it wasn't a total loss. This AM with the patch I decided to create another char in slot 2 and give it a go. All was going well for a while and I was hoping the save issues were fixed. After I hit level 9 I gave I finally froze and had to restart my PS3....only to find that my new char was gone as well - including the 45k I had banked. Now I just don't even see the point until they fix their save mess. I don't care about restarting as it is early in the game but what is the point if EVERYTHING is going to continue to get randomly deleted.

 

PS3 btw...

its a goofy patch... i had to do the same as above, take out the cable to shut my ps3 off cause the button wouldnt work after i tried downloading the update...... but i booted it up again and now its going.... only 332 minutes left... *leaves to take dabs*

Is it just me or have motorcycles vanished from online? I've been looking for one for like an hour and i can't find one. :/

 

Take a cruise up the west coast. theres a diner off the road to the right just before you get to the mt chiliad area that has 4 choppers parked there. the choppers always respawn as well.
