Running in GTA Online... to tap, or not to tap?

Ok, I just realized I've been playing for days, and haven't figured out if I need to tap the run button to sprint or if it's like RDR where you auto-sprint while holding it down in MP.

Anyone know? I'd check, but I'm at work right now and it's bugging me that I may have been tapping the button like crazy without having to.

Anyone know if you show up on the map in deathmatches when you hold the button down or if its only when you sprint?

RDR, I really think the stealth stat comes into play on the DMs. At first you all appear on the radar, then everyone disappears off it. The only other time you show up is if you shoot a unsuppressed weapon or run near someone. That damned little blue circle.

Holding results in jogging. Tapping makes you sprint. The faster you fap, the faster youre able to sprint.
