Self Defense/Bad Sport?

I was wondering if I will get a bad sport rep for killing a fool who tried to run me over, this jerk hit me and didnt kill me, I got up got out of his way and when he turned around to come at me again I wasted him. How will R* know who the bad guy is in this situation. I dont want bad sport crap for defending myself from some jackass in a car. I stay in passive mode between missions until I get an answer on this. This has happened to me 3 times, I personally think running someone over is a cheap tactic, I prefer a gun fight on foot.

i dont think you get *bad sport* rep for killing people in free mode...

I think that would be stupid.

You kind of do. Your amount of "good" points will be reset to zero as soon as you kill anyone.

D'oh!

I, however, have only killed those that have tried to/actually managed to kill me. And I keep getting Good Sport bonuses.

I honestly have no idea how it works.

I had a guy roll up on me and kill me while I was exiting my garage. So I respawn and kill him, then proceed to shotgun his car until it explodes ... and that apparently makes me a bad sport.

Then why buy insurance? The system is goofy, he wasn't out anything. He got a new car right away.

i was driving when some punk started shooting my car so i turned in at the nearest ally and when he started running up with his gun aiming at me i popped out of cover with a carbine rifle and took him down. then again i was rammed into and started taking heavy uzi fire so i pulled into a carpark( next to amu nation thats next to simions car dealer) waited for him in amu nation then he came out and tried to hit me in cover but the dumba** hit a stair rail so i go out of cover and shot him dead. i only kill players that shoot me first and im still labelled a good sport.
