After they finally patched the problems, can't be arsed starting over and over to only lose my characters..

 

Anyone else hoping for a reset?

Dear god, please, no. I'm level 30 and have put in some work. I'd be super pissed. But I'd still start over because the game is amazing.

I kind of hope for one too. I lost a level 9, 11, and 7 character. Don't even want to count the level 1-3 I lost. I currently can't even get into the game with a new character. I don't understand it. I am feeling pretty confident that the patch that comes out tomorrow will resolve very FEW problems. I am pretty sure most people will still have trouble getting on and people won't get their characters back. Has Rockstar even addressed the missing characterS? Like at all? They haven't said a word on it in that update post.

The characters don't get deleted. They're inaccessable when the Rockstar servers are down. Then, if you make a new character in it's place, it's like you're deleting your original.

Well, that's what happens when you have no idea how the cloud servers work and you keep on losing your character. After 3 days of playing I haven't lost any of my stats.

 

I've created 2 characters one in slot 1 and one in slot 2. Because of the precise reason you are mentioning, Both of the characters are gone and my stats are 0/0. How exactly did I mess up?

Instead of pressing "Ok" on everything you see, actually read the text carefully and make sure you're not playing off disc where you can easily lose your character because none of the data goes to the cloud servers.

Why do these same threads keep popping up. Use the ones already created. And I don't believe a reset is needed. People got like 1 day or 2 days max head start over other people. IT's not like it was a week.

I would be pissed if they reset it.

I finally got decent guns and a few upgrades.

But im sure they won't reset it

Im sure there's people who bought the cash cards who would get pretty mad lol, not to mention that some people seem to have been grinding none stop since the online part launched. (I have seen people who are close to rank 50 or something like that allready)

Im sure R* would piss a lot more people of if they reset it than they would if they just leave it as it is :)

The funny thing is, they were warning people that there were going to be issues. And than people started crying when it happened. Console players are not use to MMO launches obviously. But they expected to make a billion dollars in March, not September 27th. So they did the best they could to prepare the servers. Most people don't know how servers work and its a tall order. They actually have been moving very fast to get this fixed. I'm very impressed with how fast they were able to get more people online.

I DID read it, If i'm playing online with other people i am connected to the cloud right? Is there anyway to see if i'm connected to the cloud? Do i have to manually reconnect to the cloud?

I DID read it, If i'm playing online with other people i am connected to the cloud right? Is there anyway to see if i'm connected to the cloud? Do i have to manually reconnect to the cloud?

 

You don't need to be connected to the cloud to play Online, which is why people lose their stats. When you launch Online, make sure you don't get any error messages before you decide to play so everything gets saved to the cloud.

That probably makes up about 50% of my RP and cash... I do do other things.
