Quick question, are those of you who are having issues with rampant griefers playing with aim assist on?

 

I haven't had many issues at all with griefers and I'm curious if there are far more griefers playing in the assisted aim mode. Side note, I've only been able to get on long enough to get to rank 10 if it matters. My hypothesis is that people who play free aim are more interested in a challenge and less concerned with camping for easy kills and thrills.

Morale of that story is I can spell properly and use the correct grammar, but the time it takes for me to spellcheck everything, twice over I may add because google and my phone does not pick up all my mistakes because I spell phonetically makes it very time consuming.

I don't feel the need to prove my self to spelling and grammar nazi's like your self. Your a small and insignificant minority. Most users understand what I write and don't make a big deal out of it because some words are spelt wrong.

 

This took around fifteen minutes to write was it worth it no not at all, but watching you get angry at me trolling you made up for that.

Yes 100%. You're the only person in that instance of the game. It's equivalent to playing SP but with all the @#$%!* that should have been included with SP. However, also note multi player has more missions/content (and better ways) to earn money/rep etc. Which means you'll ultimately have to do some form of multi player if you want to get rich faster. But you don't have to concern yourself with griefers if you're in solo mode.

 

GTA V may have the worst community, but there are ways to reduce some of the pain once you pass that first stupid tutorial driving mission with Lamar. After that point, you're free to select solo or multi player missions and activities. I knew the online would devolve into the fecal sewer it's turned out to be. So no surprises there. If you're concerned about the trolls and griefers, consider this:

 

1. Unless you enjoy mindless rampaging and wrecking havoc around town, then avoid playing free mode. Because that's where 99% of the sociopaths with bad reps are. ou can basically guess who these miscreants are online from all the complaining threads over being labeled for bad behavior. So while not perfect, the system definitely appears to be working--at least against these griefers so far I've also come to think anti social gamers like that are being grouped together in gaming sessions. Because I've yet to encounter someone with a bad rep in any of my group/team missions as of yet. If you're being griefed, just switch to another gaming session.

 

2. Try to get your own vehicle right after character creation and go everywhere in it as much as possible. This eliminates being run over by the pyschotic village idiots.

Also although your car isn't rpg, thrown weapons or bullet proof, it IS 100% jack proof. So it does provide a decent measure of extra armor v. being on foot. Take it to the customs shop and take advantage of all the free customization upgrades there..

That's not completely true. I've made loads of friends online. You just have to have a headset and not be a 12 year old(unless you wanna game with other 12 year olds). The other day, me and like 10 other people infiltrated the military base and killed all the soldiers. It was great fun man. Although it's a little contradictory becasue someone stole the fighter jet and started an epic ground vs air battle. The other 9 of us shot it down in a matter of minutes.

The thing I hated about GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption is they both had terrible communities unless you met some nice folks on forums or already had friends before playing. Basically every session I have ever joined has been non-stop killing, and I fall short as one of the victims. Rockstar Failed with passive mode as I thought they would as players can still kill you by blowing you up and running you over not to mention you lose $2000 every time they do kill you. So you know what I've been doing? Private matches. Yeah, just me and my friends not losing money or worrying about trust issues. Player rep doesnt even help. Basically everyones a bad sport. I even did a mission with some folks and after it was over they all started killing eachother. I would've loved a better MMO approach with larger player counts in more friendlier, social-type dedicated servers. But for me at least, my imperssion on the GTAO community is terrible, I can't trust anyone, I dont even wanna risk making friends besides the ones I already have. I wonder what others think of the people they've met. So what's your impression on the community?

 

I'm not in a crew, but I guess I've been lucky so far with decent team members who don't attempt to shoot you in the back. I'm not sure if it's because I always do missions by starting with the solo player mode? I typically end up getting transferred to a multi player from solo mission (after voting on the next mission) Many of these are multi player are races, death matches etc. But after each of these multi player missions/matches, I always get returned to my mission starting point on the map. Usually don't have anyone near my char after completing a multiplayer mission, even though there might be 15 others on the server.

 

Also if you did well in the solo mission, you can be paired with gamers of similar levels & XP (if you turn this feature on in options). This feature also allows you to compete with others equal to you in level/XP.

 

So you'll level faster (since you're now participating in a team mission/activity), less likely to be overpowered by say a lvl 40 char or have to play with someone with a sh*tty rep. Also using solo player to level means your improved stats/level will come in extremely handy in multi player missions.

 

Some tactics that has worked for me so far:

 

First thing I did was get a solid humvee which can take more damage than the average vehicle. Then I immediately outfitted it with car insurance and a tracker at LS customs. This guarantees I always have a ride when my char spawns online. If a griefer destroys my ride, I get reimbursed at their expense to the tune of at least $1k GTA$. I also set it so my char to spawn at the nearest hotel instead of out in the open. This--next to my body armor--provides some room for cover against vehicle sociopaths.

 

I usually select the solo player to help level up my chars driving/shooting etc. and other criminal skill abilities like convenience store robbing. This way, I can get my skill sets to a decent level (without griefers) before trying to play in co-op, death matches, or crew missions. You also get some very decent single player missions from Lamar and Solomon on a frequent basis via your phone (at least 2k+) without the added hassle of griefers. Also since you're doing a 1-2 member mission solo, you get double the rewards and mission benefits.

 

Finally, passive mode does work to an extent. Knowing R*, you didn't expect to be in god mode with this 100% of the time now, did you? You just have to be smart about how you use it in multi player. I immediately turn this on when I switch to multi player. Then hop into my car to figure out what missions/activities I want to do next. I never waste my time running around trying to explore the map, because I can easily do that in SP. I also don't waste time running around the map on foot trying to get to missions/activities. Because that's a death wish in the making. As for losing cash, I NEVER carry any cash on me anywhere in multi player. Always transfer the money directly into my bank account right after every mission. Or crime of opportunity like after ever convenience store robbery. Or picking up $$$ that some griefer got smoked for
