Level 12, how did I get the sniper rifle?

So like it says I'm level 12. I pulled up my weapons wheel and I had the sniper rifle in my inventory that I didn't/couldn't buy because my level and Im broke as hell. But when I died it didn't re appear.. Anyone know how this happened? Only thing I can really think is that I got it out of a vehicle or picked it up off someone after they got whacked however, almost positive that's not the case. Searched but didn't see anything posted about this.

Helicopter at the top of hospital building. I read its in it.

 

Or maybe you got it during a mission. You can't keep it once you have exited the session though.

Weapons you pick up in missions will come with you back to free roam I think. However, once your ammo for it is depleted, you'll drop it.

Ok, we'll I did fly the medical helicopter maybe that's where, but It disappeared before I got to fire it. Sounds like after you get it from the chopper even if you don't run out of ammo when you die you lose it.. Thanks for the info.
