Same old missions every time..

So, um I've been playing GTA:Online for a decent amount of time and I have seemed to hit rank 9. Ever since I've finished the tutorial I have been doing the same types of missions whether it's steal coke/meth or repo a car for Simeon and it's been giving me those missions/jobs for the passed 9 ranks am I doing something wrong ... Is that the actual story mode or did I miss something that's supposed to trigger the story mode any help would help I would really like to play actual story mode with some of my roomates

That's the story mode.

To my knowledge at least, those have been the only missions I have played and my brother, whom is much further along in developing his character than I, has only played those such missions as well.

i'm not sure there are any co-op story type missions.. at least none that i've found yet. if you know anything about some of these, let me know. i want some goddamn solidarity for once, like in RDR.

As I mentioned, my brother has been playing quite a bit, almost exclusively solo as well and he has said he's played the same handful of missions time and time again. I can attest that every time that I had watched him he was playing a missions that we had already played cooperatively a few times.

 

Actually, the Job Points, I believe you play certain missions until you amass a certain amount of JP and then that unlocks contacts which progresses the story. R* I know mentioned about 500 missions, just not sure what they were exactly referring to in regards to that number.

You unlock a lot more as you go. I don't wanna spoil it for anybody, but you've only unlocked 2-3 people to do missions for. I'm above rank 20 and I have about 6 or 7 different people calling me about missions, plus you haven't unlocked armored cars, survival, package drops.. At rank 9 you ain't even got your feet wet.

Rank 14. Same missions cycling through, though I still enjoy them, but I bet they will get old after a while.

I think it's a combination of both, bare bones online, they are still to release and roll-out all the features for online and low rank level.

I got trevor at 13 only after i saw the cutscene i joined someones deathmatch then it booted me and my game froze, logged back in after restarting and ron called me again telling me to meet him again, only that time the T didn't show on the map, at level 15 i got survival and at 17 he gave me one missions to screw with the lost, I'm just wondering if there were suppose to be any missions besides those 3, forgot to mention ron also called me to tell me to drop off anything drug related and trevor will reward me.

Ya keep playing is all I can say. It takes a while but you'll get there. It's pretty cool when things start to take off. It's not like the single player story though. I'm glad it's not though. I like the change.

Give it a week or two and we'll have Planned Heists from your Planning Room, Capture the Flag, Content Creator etc

Yeah..I don't know anymore. Last week the sentiment in here was "single player is getting boring" ... "free roam is not as fun as it used to be" I sort of agreed but kept my faith in RS. People were saying:

 

1. Cops are too unrealistic.

2. Doing anything, anywhere to pedestrians gets you quickly wanted/and or killed. You can't even have fistfights.

3. Money has no use.

4. Buying and changing clothes is a waste of time when your characters changes it when you switch away from it.

 

To which the major response from fanboys was: Just wait till GTA online. That's what this game is about anyways.

 

Well. Online has been playable for about a day and people are already bored. I'm bored too.

 

GTA Online..

 

-The cops are way too aggressive and omnipresent/omniscient. There is no real way to get away with things without having to run from the cops for a while or hide in a bush.

- The robberies/jobs/races feel very repetitive/grindy

- Nickname language filter? wtf?

- Stealth is still useless in Online.

- "Play nice"

- If passive mode is working correctly it's pointless.

- No boobies at the strip club? Serisouly?

- Owning a car is silly when it's so trivial to lose it and then have to pay to recover it.

 

I've been playing GTA for many years because after a stressful day, it's fun to shoot cops and beat up hookers. Sure it's childish. This was my escape. Props to the huge detailed world you made and good job on getting away with saying the n-word 5000 times but this gta hasn't given me the "I've been bad and got away with it" feeling that made the other GTA's so special.

Thanks for the help everyone, I'm on PS3 and I'm about rank 14 as of now but i'm planning to play a decent amount of time the next few days and rank up to about 20+ and start actually getting more interested in the story of GTA : Online. It's good to know theres a lot more to be unlocked so I have some stuff to look forward to
