Can you use your own car in races?

I was just wondering if you can ever use your own car in races since all the races I've seen you have to choose one.

There are custom car races, yes.

 

edit - i've seen the option when hosting races, at least.

As long as you own a car in the class that is being raced and the option is on yes you can.

thanks. I thouht you can only own one car? Is there a garage like the old gta where you can store multiple cars or something?
