OP - Good question, I wondered that, keen to hear more answers to confirm. During deathmatches I'm not really paying attention to my bank roll.

And another quick question, i heard that if you have some money one you, eg. a couple of thousand and you die, you just lose 100 dollars and don't get charged medical bills? Is this true? If someone could test this i would be grateful as i'm not going to be online again until tomorrow.

You'll only lose $100 unless you are carrying over $5,000 on hand (if another player kills you).

I'm not too sure about Deathmatch, but it does seem any game mode you die in will actually cost medical fees. I play LTS and Survival and both cost me around 1200 a death.
