Do you need to use your gun to actually get their cash? Whenever I kill someone by running them over I don't get the cash

As people may not bank there money if they have under 5000 in cash on hand they only drop 100 possibly less if you truly feel that is a great way to making money rather than go rob a store every few mins and get cash fine or even go to jobs like dm and racing makes loads more than that.
