You are not the only one, many players same as me have the same problems. We need to wait for Rockstar to fix the issues. Hopefully it doesn't take weeks. I am used to bad starts and issues with online games, but 3 days and still the exact same issues and not even possible to play is a bit disappointing, but hey in a few weeks time probably everything will be forgiven and forgotten

I just dont understand how a lot of folks are playing I have had no luck for 3 days . This is unforgivable . They gave themselves two extra weeks to prepare and this is what we get , a broken mandatory tutorial that will not allow some players to pass. After today im back at work for 4 days then off tuesday and thursday again. I'd like to play today .

What this guy said, I agree. Just gonna take some time. I've personally seen improvment, though I haven't got to play any. But tuesday when it dropped I couldnt even get into character creation and yesterday I was able to get to the race before I was faced by the long loading screen.

Still same old same old. Either no marker for the race, characters getting deleted, infinite loading screen, infinite searching for players screen etc. Same as day 1. I hope they fix it at the weekend at least to a degree that we can do the first race without problems. Don't mind losing characters.

With xbox at least its pretty much luck. the tutorial race mission is an in game bug/glitch. there's a lot playing but not as much as you may think

as for the person who said it's unforgiveable that's a very ludacris statement especailly considering it sold the most copies of any game ever so quickly, they let us KNOW before hand there would be issues, rockstar is not very great with networking this is their second game with something like this. You have never yourself been in a job with these cirucumstances.

The only way to get online with a PS3 currently unless Rock star does this for you is:

 

Delete any characters you created. Then go to PlayStation menu where the game is, go to game data utility. Delete the 39 mb update.Load the game it reinstalls the update.

Let story mode fully load then press start, go to online, choose solo session. It will again have you create a new character. Then the tutorial will begin with the lamar race. Stay there by yiurseld until you finish the tutorial. You will race Lamar 1v1. Once you've finished that and the mission after that. You can join multiplayer games with the rest of us. For those who cannot follow the steps or simply do not understand, you'll have to wait until Rock star updates the game that auto deletes your corrupt characters and starts you from scratch. Also they need to fix the fact that anything other than choose solo session in the online menu doesn't work until after the tutorial.

Btw, this method has given me success on more than 4 PS3's so far. Mine and friends of mine.

Unfortunately I own a digital version of the game, not possible to delete the online patch. But I have hopes they will fix the issues themselves, hopefully soon.

I have tried every trick out there. After 2 days managed together passed the first race...... But still so many bugs I can manage to do anything or play with anyone. Lots of personal friends I have are playing but some are like me too..... Overall I figure we just have to wait a couple weeks.... I don't mind waiting I just hate being so far behind everyone
