I hope this is allowed, sorry if it's not, lock or whatever if that's the case.

See, I'm getting the game around Dec.1. So about 2 months from now. I've been watching videos and reading discussions about it and it looks like fun, but there's a few things here and there that I've been wondering about. I was hoping people that have the game might be able to answer a couple things? Thanks.

1) How do custom cars save? What I mean is, if you spend a ton of money on a car, what happens if you leave it somewhere? I know in GTA type games, you tend to have to leave your car all over the place during missions. In the first Saints Row(I haven't played the other so I dunno), if you save a car in your garage, no matter where you leave it, you can respawn it at your garage so you don't risk losing it. I assume it's not exactly like that in GTAV, but if not, then how do you keep from losing your car? Where does it end up if you spend 100k on a car and just leave it on the street somewhere because you needed to get in someone else's car for a mission? I heard there's insurance and stuff, what does that do?(I know what it does IRL, but in-game, I assume it works a bit different)

2) When online, how does #1 work? The same? I heard that the first car you steal is the one you're kinda 'stuck' with. If you lose the car, where does it end up? What happens if someone steals your car? Is there a way to prevent someone just coming up and stealing your car that you spent a ton of money on? Without resorting to peaceful mode(or whatever it's called).

3) When playing online, how much money do people drop when they're killed? I hear people saying to always put money in the ATM so if you die, it's not a big deal. Does that mean if you die, you lose ALL the money you have on you? Like, if I have $100,000 on me, and someone kills me, they could pick up all of money and end up with $100,000? Or does it only drop a set amount?

4) Can you still kinda like, casually bump into people until they fall over? I know in GTAIV you could just slowly walk into people and they'd eventually fall over. I'd have fun just pushing people off ledges and down stairs and watch them ragdoll around. Is that still possible?

5) What happened to snapmatic's scanlines in photos? Did an update remove them, or did everyone figure out there was some super secret hidden option to turn them off? I know for a while, all cell phone pictures had scanlines over them. Lately though, they seem to be removed. Just wondering. I assume people complained about it and Rockstar removed them in an update, but I figured I'd ask in case I decide to take pictures.

Anyway, thanks for reading/answering/etc.

1.) You spend money on the car, there are 2 ways to actually save it. Your Home garage, or your garage you get by signing up to Rockstar Social Club (It just a bigger garage that fits up to 4).

If you die or get busted in, or while around your car, when you respawn it's shipped to an impound lot where it can be retrieved for $250 (costs nothing).

2.) You get a car that you get a one-time FREE insurance and a FREE track (tracker makes it spawn on you when you join games and shows on mini-map). If it's destroyed, the insurance you paid for (at the car mod shop) will give you the option to use your cellphone, call the insurance company, and arrange a pick-up. If you leave it on the streets and die, the cops will find it and you can pick it up at the impound lot.

- People do often steal other's cars (if you leave the vehicle), and usually end up destroying them, but all you have to do is rejoin the game and your car will appear in front of you when you spawn again.

3.) Not too sure on that exact amount but you lose a really really small percentage if you have over a certain amount, I've noticed under 25k, about $100. So nothing to worry about. You can get mugged however for a nice chunk, but i haven't experienced that yet.

4.)Bumping and jumping into people OFFLINE is way more fun now compared to GTA IV, and alot funnier as well. Does not happen to other players online though, only NPCs

5.) Scanlines are only shown while TAKING the picture, not after.

Wow, Thanks Mog_3825. Much nicer than the last forum I tried to ask. They gave me the responses "Yes, Yes, No, Dunno, Dunno" and the thread was locked. I don't know why I didn't try here first. So..yeah. Thanks again.

Couple little things though. Is there any kind of tracker offline for cars too? Like, if I leave the car on the side of the road or do I HAVE to put it in the garage to save it? And for the scanlines..I saw a lot of pictures earlier on Rockstar Social Club that has scanlines, but now they don't.

Scanline example:

Notice the semi-transparent lines going across the image on the first one. They're not there on the second. That's why I was confused.
