Is it just me or does gta online offer nothing for solo players

I have to say im dissapointed with what rockstar have to offer for solo players like me. It seems that you need friends to be able to do almost everything.

 

If you are solo, you can free roam and rob shops and kill randoms. You can also do the lamar, gerald and simeon missions but thats about it. You need at leat 2 players for all the races, deathmatches, and many of the missionsand other modes. Everything. I don't like how its not a worldwide matchmaking system like cod. its annoying how you can only play with people in your session, who are completly random and will probably not join.

 

Since I don't have any friends on gta who are willing to play with me, I guess i'll just have to play boring free roam online all the time.

 

I heard you unlock survival mode at lvl 15. Can you play this solo? If you can then maybe I won't get bored of onine as quickly.

You can do any of the races solo.

 

You can rob stores solo.

 

You can do survival solo.

 

You can parachute solo.

 

You can steal and sell cars solo.

 

You can do Missions solo.

 

Etc...

Of course you need other players to do deathmatches and the like. If you want to play solo, just free roam.

You can play survival solo, but you can also find lobbies with random people to play with. The point of online is multiplayer, it doesn't force you to play with friends you can invite or join random people form around the world to play content with. If you were thinking GTA Online would be single player but connected to the internet than you did not do very good research.

I can do a glitch with Solo after I create a character in online and try to join the race. I quit, go back into the game, choose solo. The Blue Trigger is gone, and I can go screw around. But I can't use Select or Start buttons, and there are no jobs or anything. I can explore and drive around, and get cops on me, but that is it.

As you mentioned "i have no friends to play with", Do you mean public gaming with randoms instead? Then you can do pretty mush everything you can do with friends ..

You need to understand what Online games are truly for.

As I've said before, maybe Rockstar could've explained this in the game better or something. But once you do one of the 3 option types you see on the map (deathmatch, race or multi-player missions), then unique solo missions that can be played with another friend open up and you get text messages or calls on your phone for them.

I get what he's saying and I think some of you are misinterpreting the OP's point. I'm more of a solo player, I like to meet people along the way and play with new people.

 

But so far every time I jump into a death match I'm just sitting there in the lobby, on my own, waiting for people to join. Sadly, no one does, that or I get one person joining but before anyone else does they leave. Basically it seem's you have to organise a bunch of people together beforehand to get large lobby's of death matches and races.

Last night I was playing, I just used the auto invite, most of the time it'd take 30-50 seconds for the game slots to fill.

 

There are lots of missions that only require 1 player, and you can even do the races single player (although no money to earn) and parachute jumps etc etc. Obviously deathmatch will need 2 players minimum.

 

But it is an online game. Embrace it and jump in, or you're gonna have a bad time.

Your mocking him for asking about solo online play yet Rstar made that option available for people to use. I was able to do the gang attacks as well in solo mode but I can no longer find them, you can also rob armored cars yet another feature i can no longer find. I dont know if that unlocks at higher ranks and it just glitched for me or what it was.

if people in your session arn't accepting invites, switch to GTA 5 (single player) - then switch back to GTA Online and you should be in a different session with different people.
- or you can also choose to join instead of host a game, then you will find other people who are in the same boat as you are currently in.

You can try going into Online in the start menu and select Jobs. Pick, Join Missions and it will search servers and sessions for others that are hosting missions, that way you'll load into a group doing exactly what you want, instead of hoping you session players will join your missions

It's probably just because there are still a lot of people who can't get on, or think they won't be able to get on so won't bother trying. The sessions will be full before long.

Its f*ckED PERIOD.

 

1. You can only Join a random mission, don't get the choice to pick, you need to join RANDOM job.

2. Matchmaking is f*cked because if you host a game you can only invite those in your freeroam session and your f*cked if there are few players / people decline.

3. When you host a game no one hardly ever joins even with matchmaking set to open, it takes forever for a lobby to fill up unless everyone in your session accepts.
