American Dream Achievement/Trophy Bugged?

For this achievement you have to own an apartment, garage, and insured vehicle. However, the achievement/trophy doesn't unlock when you own an apartment w/ garage and an insured vehicle, and you can't own both an apartment and a separate garage because you're not allowed to own more than one property...

 

what is wrong here?

just a hunch, but maybe you have to buy the vehicle from one of the websites? when you say "own insured vehicle" do you mean you have one you stole that you added insurance to? or did you actually legally buy one?

I got the trophy just by having an apartment with garage and a car. It was not bugged for me.

All apartments have garages. By that logic, my achievement should have popped. It didn't.

I had a car from the tutorial and as soon as bought an apartment with a garage it unlocked . That being said I do have the Elergy so if that counts as buying a car since I did get of the internet maybe that is it. Or it might have to do a check against the social site for the game to give out the award and its being "having issues" all day.

I bought a garage, bought a bike(a PCJ) and then bought the cheapest apartment. And then I lost my character. IF the damn trophy didn't pop because I bought a f*cking bike I'm gonna be mad.

It popped for me as soon as I bought my apartment.

 

Stolen car + tracker + insurance

Bought 120K house with two car garage

Immediately got it after the purchase - "American Dream"

 

This is on the Xbox version if that's relevant.

Sounds like your guys version might have bugged out? Also check that your car definitely has insurance just to make sure that's not the missing component (server sync error or similar).

It would seem that buying the house in person doesn't unlock it. You have to buy it via the internet. Way to go, rockstar. Another brilliant oversight. I had to buy another home and re-buy back my home at a loss. I'm going to abuse Violent Duct for a bit to get my money back because of their idiocy.

I have it, and I never bought a garage, and I currently don't have my own vehicle because I sold it.

I just got the achievement moments ago

Yeah, you must purchase the apartment from the in-game internet browser for it to count towards to achievement, unfortunately for me, the in-game internet is bugged and I cannot access it. Looks like I'm going to have to wait for Rockstar to either fix this bug or fix this achievement.

You need to buy the property via the phone internet and not the sign. Tried and tested yesterday.

You obviously didn't read the previous posts. You have to purchase the house through the ingame internet in order to get the trophy. When you buy it in front of the building next to the sign it won't pop up.

Mine unlocked after i bought all three apartment types (low, medium, and high-end), it unlocked once i bought the high-end apartment, so it might have something to do with that.

Same problem with me. Bought it in person and didn't get the trophy. I also have an expensive ass apartment.

maybe you have to buy the good apartment and buy an expensive car? I don't think the American dream is to own a storage type building in the ghetto with a stolen car.

 

it just seems bugged since it shouldn't matter if you bought it over the phone or in person.
