Sexual preference has FAR less to do with Trevor's personality than simple instant gratification. He's the type of guy who doesn't consider prison sex to be "homosexual", but more of a simple survival instinct. He doesn't seem to give it a second thought. He clearly shows a sexual PREFERENCE towards women throughout the story mode, and it's only when he's waking up from a drunken stupor where we find him in the aftermath of being with a dude. Trevor does not need to assume anything and this is true freedom it represents. Many gays say that everyone should to assume their sexuality and this is ridiculous. I don't know if Trevor is ever portrayed as seeking out male sexuality without an element of domination. His relationship with Wade, Floyd, maybe even Ron are dominating and almost fatherly. He controls their lives. His encounter with Johnny K shows how he crosses that line to get people in line, disarm them, control them. When he moves into Floyd's house, he's not just in control, he's a patriarch. I also thought the scene where he invades Fabian's personal space in Michael's house had a sexual tone to it, he acts towards Fabian similarly to how he acts towards Molly.
