GTA Online Cops and GTA V Cops in General

I am seriously so f*cking sick off the cops in GTA V, it's fine that Rockstar wanted them to be harder, but GIVE ME A f*ckING BREAK!

Like when you rob a store in Online, you will either get 2 stars if you just run away, or 3 if you shot the guy behind the counter, at least that is what I have experienced, if you choice to not shot the guy in the store and just run away, you risk him shooting you when you're on your way out, but if you shot him you get a extra star, which makes getting away probably 10 times harder cause of the f*cking OP Police Helicopters.

 

Rockstar has just ruined my experience in Online by having the cops be almost impossible to get away from, at least if you're on a server with a lot of players, cause the more players, the more cops will drive around in the streets to level the player/cop ratio

 

I was in a server with 14 other players, robbed a store, shot the guy behind the couter and got 3 stars, I ran to my car to get away, and already within about 15 seconds, it was 3 Helicopters and over 15 cop cars around me, which made it impossible for me to get away, cause they were blocking all the streets, which off course lead to me dying and losing what I got from robbing the store, PLUS about 600 - 700 more, cause that is Rockstars logic.

 

I also noticed that even if you hide away and your stars starts to blink, the cop AI still know where you are, and will drive down the side alleys or other areas you are hiding in looking for you, which is f*cking stupid cause that is the areas Rockstar has told you to hide, but you can't hide, CAUSE THEY STILL f*ckING FIND YOU!

The best way to rob a store is to let him do his thing with your gun on him (cough loudly in the mic to make him go faster) then grab the case and back out of the store with your gun pointed at him. That way he won't pull a gun on you.

 

Two stars is much easier to get away from than 3 (damn chopper).

I have done this before, but that makes also getting out of the store slower, and makes it possible for the cops to get to the store before you can get away.

 

Even 2 stars in GTA V is way harder then it should be, might be a bit of and over statement, but I would say that 2 stars in GTA V is like 3 - 4 in GTA IV, cause of the sh*tty cop AI.

Find a back alley that has a parking lot off of it or something. You can also find a fence you can hop, park next to it, leave your car and jump the fence and hide behind the fence.

 

2) As someone above me has said keep your gun up on them and back out the door, as soon as you are out the door turn and sprint to your car, or just hit the enter car button if you parked right there as you should.

 

3) Yes, the jump from 2 stars to 3 stars is huge because of the heli, so attempt to avoid 3 stars whenever possible.

 

4) If you hold up shops too often you will get 3 stars every time without shooting anyone because you are on a robbing spree, so their desire to bust you goes up.

 

5) Using a mask when you hold up the shop then running outside and taking it off instantly lowers your wanted stars by 1.

I love the difficulty, but it gets a bit easier (still difficult) with practice. The main thing is to have a plan BEFORE you rob the store. Yes cops are harder, but if you know the landscape you'll have an easier time with your getaway, and with hiding from the cops (especially those damn helicopters!!!). Picking out an empty, secluded, covered structure before you do a stickup is always a good idea, too. It especially helps with the helicopters.

 

The biggest problem I have is when multiple 'copters start to spawn, and I'm stuck out in the middle of nowhere with very few covered hiding spots available. Off-road cars are good for moments like these, especially if you can make it to a train tunnel or airplane hangar. If all else fails, grab a heli from Trevor's hangar and make it easy on yourself!

I agree with the hiding spot thing. The game forces you to continue to drive around because no matter how good your hiding spot is, the police will look for you there. This goes for singleplayer too.

Yeah, and the annoying Omniscient cops, it doesn't seem like they all are like it, but a few know your exact location even if you're 5 Miles away.

People like you need to have a serve labeled for vajj's only! I have no problems getting away from cops, it's not easy but I played online for 6 hours last night and died once due to someone running me over.

Have you thought that you may actually just suck at escaping the cops? I find it more realistic and easy imho.

 

Realistic as in if you kill a cop who is alone in the middle of nowhere you wont get a star.

 

But either i'm just good, or you just suck. Either way you will master the skill in evading cops.

The first liquor store robbery I did was botched to hell, no mask, and I accidentally shot the guy with the sawed-off. Three stars off the bat and I didn't think I was going to make it. Shot out my tires too. Luckily I got into another car, a parked car at that. (protip: Always jack a moving vehicle) Got away clean after that.

Didn't die, so I've attained a bunch of stars and everyone of them I have evaded. Last I saw I racked up about 130 wanted stars, evaded all 130.

Another tip is to always turn onto streets and always look for an alleyway or under a bridge if there is a helicopter. Drive fast, lose them and make turns. Pretty simple. I like to think I'm a professional when it comes to evading the pigs.

I haven't had to kill a cop once this playthrough just yet.

my crew and I can easily get away from 4 stars with swat etc.... for some reason whenever we talk about shooting the heli or aim at it it decides to back off for some odd reason lol, but if you cant ever get away just dive into the river bank, or go into the trains tunnel

i understand your frustration at the cops they can be difficult it takes practice as for them going down an alleyway as annoying as that is it makes it more immersive and hard which i like be more chosey on your spots once that you can make a little bit of moving room so you can continue to hide all in all it's hard which i love it is a challenge and getting 3 stars is hard as well if you just can't escape call for help or get to a heli. or even get an offroad vehicle heli's even get owned by that just keep trying you'l get better at it

Yea, that's what I'm doing aswell. Drive there everytime when you you're near it and you will loose the cops for sure.

Its all about scoping out the area before you do this. Maybe it's just my way of thinking. Its all about line of sight when it comes to cops catching/seeing you. Find a decent enough escape, mountains being the best in my opinion, mark it with a waypoint, then proceed to rob the store. I also apply the mask toggle technique which will drop your wanted level by 1 only if you're out of sight.

Put your money in the ATM every time!!!!!!!!! Then you won't lose anything.

cops are super easy to get away from, you easily lose the ground units by turning corners or driving your sports car up the side of the mountain, they wont follow or even just looking behind you, their super speed cheat doesnt seem to work if you are looking at them, also they crash more, downside is you cant see where you are going either. Choppers arent so hard to lose once you lose the ground guys, just go fast if you have a fast car, they cant keep up, or find a tunnel or tall buildings or some sort of cover, lose them every time.

I'm loving the challenge of tough cops, I like not being completely confident that I can get away easily. I don't use hiding spots as they do tend to find you easily enough. I try to break their LOS and then drive slowly, using alleyways as much as possible and watching the minimap for gaps to exploit. I find it much easier to get away this way.

I dont see why your complaining. The fact you have a million cops on your ass for robbing a store ONLINE sounds extremly like fun mayhem to me. If you fail to see this than I dont know why you enjoy GTA in the first place. The intense cop chases is a fantastic part of this game.

You get two stars for your first robbery without shooting clerk. You get three stars for killing clerk or if you do a second robbery within a certain amount of time. Cops check all the allies because they have a general idea of where you were going when they lost sight of you and just like real cops, will check all the roads and allies around.

 

Just play Pacman with them if they're encroaching on your hiding spot.

Actually I evaded 3 stars with heli right overhead earlier. It was night, I managed to drive down a very small back alley and park in a dark spot with the lights out. They flew right overhead & I was right in the sight cones of 3 cops without them seeing me.

 

Also multi-story car parks work well.

 

Obviously It is important that you are out of site when you enter your hiding place.

meh, they cops suck balls, they never miss and kill you in about three shots and start shooting you on one star, you shoot back and are in the open you are f*cked. choppers respawn within shooting range instantly when you shoot them down. However they are super easy to get away from using the tips i described above with the only bad part being you have to hide for five f*cking minutes waiting for the stars to go away, super lame! and if you go down a subway tunnel and hide on the corner by the stairs you can shoot the f*ckers till you run out of ammo, the cops are very disappointing in this game.

I've robbed at least 6 stores online. I just keep the gun aimed at the clerk and still have time to leave before cops ever spot me. It's not that hard, at least to the point were I feel like dropping the game entirely. I've done it back to back to back. Use a mask then take it off after you're done and you lose a star as well. Stop playing like your playing old GTAs might help as well. The line of sight works in your advantage, if the cops actually catch up with you, you need to hide behind buildings or in alleys or even in brushes (something that didn't work in GTA before). It's different but it's not that much harder.
