GTA Online : Worst Character-Editor of all time

just "played" (didn't really work after that) it and wtf is this crap ? grandparents and parents ? Why cant I just chose what my character looks like ? I mean, is this The Sims online or GTA Online ?so stupid

 

 

 

and when is GTA Online finally playable ? it says timeout all the time, and I cant pass the point where you're supposed to race against someone else ? it says "looking for other players" for many minutes, without someone joining

The customization options are limited so they disguised it under the "grandparent" thing to make it seem like there are more options than there really are.

I'm not too impressed by the character creator. It just looks like a gimmick, and it doesn't give you anywhere NEAR the ability to create unique characters on the level that other games do. This is ONE aspect that Saints Row clearly does a better job at. It was OVERTHOUGHT and should have been one of the easier stuff to implement.

I agree but the thing also is I didn't spend too much time customizing my character as I was scared I would get disconnected at any moment. Its a "Novel" idea, but poorly executed.

Also, clearly this is one of the areas where you should provide Rockstar with feedback at the email they've set up.

yea some parts barely even work like the resemblance thing, that doesnt even make sense. Like when you slide the "your resemblance" slider to the left, it makes you skinnier, Idk how that even means resemblance... failstar. They shouldve just allowed us to create our character from scratch, like different heights,weights,age(the one in gta o sucks), skin color with hundreds of different skin combinations, nose shape, face shape etc.. something like Playstation Home.

Agreed 100%. I can't make my character look unique, they all f*ckin' look the same. And even if I make him 40 and no sleep, all illegal work, he still looks 20 years old. I can't even give him a beard like I was hoping to. It just screams microtransactions.

Before everyone goes batsh*t crazy, keep in mind that Rockstar is taking people's desires and dislikes into consideration. I see the character customization getting an overhaul, as most people seem to really dislike it. It's not going to happen overnight, but i'm sure they are going to address it.

It's a pretty unique idea to try out, but just doesn't work well, and feels more frustrating than anything else.

 

Still the best game I've ever played though.

yeah the character editor is below average, but whats up with the clothes, im trynna make a street thug and give him the proper clothes but wheres all the gangsta clothes at, no true baggy jeans and the only way u can rock a bandana is the way that bikers rock em... u cant rock em like the ballas or famailies.

 

i dont get why the f*ck rockstar didnt put all the clothes that the peds wear in single player for the online, dropped the ball on that sh*t

Character Editor is terrible.

 

The thumbnail for the parent you are selecting is so small you can't see what they actually fully look like.

 

The slider for resemblance was terrible, hardly made any difference.

 

The worst part for me, was the Time Spent options. I couldn't edit them. I had 0 hours to spend, and I couldn't subtract hours from things to reallocate them elsewhere.

 

In the end, my guy looks like a complete dumb ass.

Actually in The Sims 3 you can get in and out a pool without a pool ladder.

i don't agree i like the character creator it's a first in the gta universe plus you play around with the creator until you get a that you like and is unique.

Honestly, the lack of options isn't what bothers me, its that all of the option look dumb. None of them really look tough or even close to what I'd want a character to look like.

A-f*cking-men, the idea is brilliant, the execution not so much. The variety is far too limited, especially when you selected a so called 'special parent' a la John Marston. It's a f*cking twin-fest when you go online.

Is it perfect? Not at all. It was executed in a terrible way, but it is an interesting idea that I think could be done.

 

I am actually happy they didn't just copy paste the same character creator that EVERY game has, they tried something different, and it din't work out as well as it could have.
