The never-ending race...

Okay, i have seen many, many topics about the first race and how it doesn't always work, but for me, I feel like my online game for some reason has a special curse or something. I haven't been able to get past this first race at all, not one time, since 6 AM on October 1st, and i have something that happens to me in the race that I haven't seen anyone else post on these forums about. So here's what happens:

 

When i load GTA Online, whether I try it from the "Go" option, or even "Solo Mode", or any other mode, it sweeps up into the sky, and eventually falls down onto my character in the parking lot. From there, that idiot gets out of the car i supposedly get and when I'm about to get in, it re-loads the same exact scene of the car pulling up and the guy getting out again, and then the 2nd time over it goes into the infinite "Loading" screen, or "waiting for other players". NEVER has it gotten past this, no matter what character i use, or what way i get into GTA Online, this is always what happens. Can anyone else relate to this at least?

Ive finnished the race about 4 times but every time after that it just gets stuck and i have to restart my ps3, and when I restart my Ps3 my character gets deleted. Yay this is so fun.

Well then apparently it's not PSN or Xbox Live that's responsible for this, but Rockstar alone, and they haven't done anything about it in the past 3 days... Jesus christ.

Ya it seems the problems they are having know no bounds when it comes to the system you are playing on.

 

Hopefully they can fix this sooner rather than later.

The option for fixing it "soon" has unfortunately pretty much passed.. They've had 2 weeks since the release and 3 more days since the actual GTAO launch, not to mention they were supposedly "beta testing" it before it was released.

I have the same problem but with the second reload of the man pulling up in the car it switches from night to day. It's pretty annoying but I did have it work once. And I was able to play but it was with a random character. So when I restarted to recreate mine it's back to the same bulls hit. I wish I just kept the random character only he looked so much like macklemore.

Have tried everything. Delete patch, new character, restart, different game modes, tried since launch.

Have not played online once.

 

Should have been a quick patch to at least skip tutorial. Easy fix.

Seriously, it has at times randomly put me in a full online match and I've had a sh*t ton of fun, all they need to do is just delete that entire f*cking stupid tutorial that requires online access which they can't provide apparently, and it would be fine.

Yeh exact same for me too. It plays that cut scene twice, then the car disappears and it says waiting for other players, then it doesn't move on from there.

Try this (Worked for me, 360). Just delete the cache in your storage space where GTA V is installed, to do that you go into storage then press Y on your drive.

Then start up GTA V, go in to one of your story mode characters (Not sure this is needed) , then jump into online. (Not sure this is needed)

Happening to me also, and it's pretty frustrating. I actually got to the screen where you select a car for the race one time, but then it froze up for 30 minutes and eventually I had to just give up and restart my xbox. I even set my alarm and woke up at 3am to see if maybe I could get through the tutorial while it wasn't prime time but nope, no dice.

Things like this don't seem to do anything. People just post these "fixes" because they tried something and then got lucky and got through the tutorial. I've tried deleting cache, deleting the title update and redownloading, remaking characters, making a character in the 2nd slot, and pretty much every "fix" that has been posted. Nothing has worked, not even slightly.

Same as above.

The only sure fix, would be a patch that removes the tutorial. Or at least the restriction on joining with friends and tutorial completion.

My experience of online on PS3 has been exactly the same, I've never been able to enter the car and start the race. Designing the online experience to begin in this way was a massive f**k up, I would be content if I were able to at least free roam with other players... This is pure frustration.
