The aim assist. Why is there no option to turn in it off in free roam or game modes? Making everybody have it on by default is boring. It takes no skill what so ever. What are rockstar playing at? The option was in GTA 4.

Even less enterable buildings than the single player. Do I need to explain how disgusting this is?

The hospital bills are ridiculous. GTA is all about having a fun time and dying over and over. You shouldn't be punished too hard for it.

Aside from that, the online seems pretty solid.

In regards to aim assist: choose free aim in single player and then, from your pause menu, enter online. It will place you in a free aim server. This is confirmed to work.

I suspect the free-aim servers will come later.

I also want non-blip on radar servers so player on player encounters are more random and unpredictable. ;)

The only non technical problem I've come across with multiplayer is the other players themselves. Why does everyone just kill each other in Free Roam for no reason?

I know right. I was playing yesterday, and i have never played GTA IV much online so i was unsure what to expect, i saw a blimp on the radar of another player, so i slowed down in my car to see what he wanted, and he smashed into me full speed then shot at me.

I drove off and he chased me for ages haha. Least i know now that GTA Online free roam is about murdering everyone.

true.. pretty lame if you ask me.

I used to play APB and you were not able to do this and this in turn made you communicate with people and make a crew. This is like APB chaos mode which blew ass - ok i think you can make it so your not killable but you can still get ran over. Weird.

Most people are really defensive when another player gets around them. Like me? I will always stay out of your sight as long as I can, I don't trust players. IV was a lot of mass murder and V is not much different. I love it though, it should be this way. If you were around some random criminals would you feel trusting of them? They set the game up to always have that lurking in your mind when playing with randoms, do a robbery? The other guy doesn't have to split it with you. sh*t like that makes the game feel more realistic, because if you are getting backstabbed or shot at you likely do not know this person and they don't trust you. If you want to get to know people, just make your intentions clear on chat and don't pull your gun out. I usually stay in my car when I talk to random players, so I can always just take off.

The murdering in free roam is part of GTAs online gameplay. It was there in 4, and it is here and will always be around in GTA. What do you do in SP when you free roam? You kill people, so others want to kill players because often times players offer more challenge than an AI.

Yah I just avoid other people or if i get close i feel em out a bit. There should be a peaceful gesture you can set to show people you come in peace. I've met and rode with some cool people so far i just put my piece away to show i mean no harm and hop in.

I'd say "You've clearly never played a GTA Multiplayer game before" but it's not applicable in this situation - people are killing each other because there's nothing else to do.

I agree to some extent, I don't think we shouldn't be allowed to kill each other. I just feel there should be some etiquette or honour system. If I wanted to kill everyone in sight, I'd go and play deathmatch. That's not what I'm looking for in free roam. I want to interact with people, not worry that they're going to shoot me in the face just because... This isn't Mad Max, we're meant to be criminals in a LA setting, not a bunch of savages. Gangbangers aside, do career criminals typically shoot each other on sight in the middle of the street?

By all means kill and rob, but have a bit of restraint and be selective. R* have tried to address this with the good/bad sport feature but it seems like their going about it the wrong way.

@JohnGazman: It was exactly this reason that made me stop playing IV's free roam.

I can't wait to put bombs in my car, then I'll make my car available to anyone.

Seems to me that not killing other players rewards you. I'm on Solo Sessions and I get 1000 bucks for being on good behavior.

Yes, but this is different. Back then there was nothing to do in Free Roam when it was working, There's plenty to do in Online here, but until stability is sorted, you can't access the features. Thus, those that are online feel that trying to assert their masculinity by mercilessly killing defenceless players is the only thing to do.

Haha it's gta everyone will kill everyone just for the thrill. don't trust anyone if you see someone always expect they're going to do something (80% of the time they do) that's what I do and it works for me.

I know, and I fully intend to keep playing this. I was simply making the point that this issue isn't new to me.

Cruden95, I don't trust anyone, and that's the problem. How is anyone going to team up and do anything fun if they don't dare getting within 50ft of another player? And it's not like I was getting dominated or anything. I'm sure some people regretted f*cking with me because I just kept coming back and shooting them. Not exactly honourable either but they drew first blood. Point is, I didn't want it to be that way. I approached people peacefully to begin with.

I was hoping Rockstar would have (and would dictate to all new players) a solid reward and consequence system. Good Sport, Bad Sport and Passive Mode is not enough.

It's easy to go and attack someone but it's not easy to approach someone in free-roam to work together.

For me, that would be better. You could team up with someone for a robbery but they could betray you then and it would be much more realistic and shocking (than someone relentlessly hounding you, like a dick.) Or, they might share the spoils and you could learn to trust and work together. Nothing in GTA:O encourages this as of yet.

The game doesn't penalise relentless kill sprees and it doesn't encourage free-roam cooperation. In fact, it highlights where everyone is and naturally makes people stop to look when they pass someone in the street. This will often end up with a shooting as both parties are quickly on the defensive.

I'm all up for GTA chaos but the lack of structure means there is no encouragement for GTA cooperation.

I'm sure it can be a lot of fun but so can trolling. Fun or not though, you do it often enough, people will just think you're a dick.

I think ultimately the problem with a game like this is that the freedom it gives can actually be detrimental to the overall enjoyment for everyone as it gives too much power to the "griefers". And I don't know what could be done about it. I don't care much for trolling for example, but I believe people should have the freedom to be trolls if they wanted to.

The aim assist: because the world is full of people that can not aim, even games like CoD have aim assist. It's nothing new.

Less enter-able buildings: It's an MMO, according to some people anyways.. Having to load the location of everyone and having all the little details of internal buildings can be stressful on the console. Thats my thought anyways.

Ridiculous hospital bills: That's easy. 2 words: MICRO TRANSACTIONS

And now for my complaint, Mandatory multiplayer in A f*ckING TUTORIAL! are you kidding me? Stupidest idea ever! That is the main reason why half the community can not play at least free roam.

Yeah, there are still a lot of problems that need working out. I figured that once you enter a one-on-one deathmatch, both parties wouldn't have to pay hospitals after each death. I mean seriously, what's the point of having the OODM if you can just run around and kill eachother anyways. I also noticed that passive mode doesn't work. I use it when I'm AFK or smoking bong loads, only to find that some dude has been making tread-marks on my face with a dump truck.

Did you actually just suggest that we pay real world money so the ridiculous in-game hospital bills don't seem like such a hinderance? Wow...

It's 2013, connection isn't as important as it was five years ago...

And if they take no skill then how come certain ppl are better than others?
