It's definitely a syncing problem. Sometimes it also says "No Crew Membership" even if you're in a crew. At the moment now I never see the yellow loading circle either, which pretty much confirms that the game is actually communicating with the cloud server.

 

 

yeah I just noticed my crew information has gone.

That's what I told myself I was doing, but now I feel attached to the character lol.

 

So I am going to load into single player. If I don't see my character on the char wheel I know I haven't managed to connect to a server.

So my character get deleted make a new one and do all tutorial and make car now car is gone and cant call insurance f*cking piexe of sh*t man

Most people who made a character DURING or BEFORE the cloud servers were off would most likely be deleted. Unless you're one of the lucky people in the world who didn't get deleted. I made one that was up to rank 12 and just did nothing because I was poor (dying so much with my money in my wallet) and he got deleted. so I made a new character which is good. Put that gwap in the ATM. lol

The cloud servers work, but my character still dissapeared. I started playing bout an hour ago, did some stuff, the game (and the console) froze at one point and it was all gone. But I kept my money, at least I still got that much. I play on PS3 BTW.

That's crazy. The cloud servers are available, yet they aren't saving our characters... I'm confused as to how Rockstar haven't got this listed on the support page... :/

 

okey ive played for 4 housr now, rank 8, ive tried going to single player, and back to online, sh*t has been saved.

 

Im gonna try rebooting my console now, wish me luck

 

you are trouble shooting the wrong way characters data is all wiped in sequence at certain times. Restarting is not what is causing people to lose there characters.

Well i just created a new character and it put me in a race 1v1 with Lamar. I presume rockstar have taken the need to race against other players out so people can get passed the tuts. I quit midpoint during the race though as i just can't be bothered to rank back up again, and chances are i will lose this player too. Just don't see the point until Rockstar finally do something.

 

What i find annoying is the lack of response and communication from Rockstar. The last update on their support page was yesterday, we haven't heard anything since.

True, but, in your own words, they DID something - changed the tutorial mission, at least. So something IS happening. I`d rather have things happen than hear they will ...

 

I`m still scared sh*tless of going online, since I am really pissy when it comes to creating my char only to get it vanish and ranking only to lose it, which is starting to get annoying :(

Yeah, it's crazy how hard I tried to get online the past few days and now I don't want to. If I try to play I'll lose the character so I'd rather just leave it.

Still rocking my same old character, even after getting kicked off the server, and rebooting the game.

 

For the past 20 minutes i havent been able to go into an online session tho, only solo. happened after i got disconnected from the previous one

Ahhh there we go, now the character is gone, did another reboot just for fun. But atleast now I know gta online is down, because i couldnt get into it, so I have faith the character will be back when the servers are up again

Same here. Just turned on my ps3 and the character has gone. Spent a lot of time ranking up and styling my guy. I will wait until it's fixed and i hope this is just a cloud issue or something. Not going to bother creating another character only to lose it again.

 

 

Mine got deleted just now as well, so that's a no-go!

 

 

Mine has just been deleted also. This sucks.

 

All of the above... Strange R* hasnt got any update on this issues yet as this seems to be the most prominent one at the moment..

 

Edit: My advice would be to NOT start over. Wait untill we get some more info on the issue and see what happens. I just tried again, but it didnt even know that I was active in a crew. So it might just be a cloud problem. Hopefully when it's fixed, we can continue with our characters.

They should atleast let people know that they are aware of it, and to either wait for the character to reappear, or tell them if its really gone, because this must be INSANELY frustrating to tons of people

Another update, this was weird. I tried rebooting the game ( i checked and my character slots was wiped), so as im booting up, i choose online, now just as im about to get in, i loose connection to PSN, so i get sent back to GTA SP, but RIGHT before it shifts window, its starting to zoom in on the house that I have in GTAO, so apparently, it has found my character again

OMG I was like level 27. I already had the 400k apartment and 2 vaccas modded up disappear. Now I was in a mission lobby and it disconnected when it started. I come back online and my character is gone

Dont make a new character, wait!

 

I have been playing online for a while now and for the past 20 minutes before i dc'ed and lost my character, i was unable to join an online sesssion, so it seems their servers are down.

 

Even if they are up now, the data might not have been transfered over yet, so be patient and wait a bit.

 

(i am too, my lvl 15 with house and all is gone too)

Word is you should NOT make a new character in the same slot. The servers are probably f*cked and when they work again your character should return..

 

Anyhowww. I submitted a request to rockstar for an update on this specific issue... Now pray they reply..

I did that yesterday, played on slot 1 all day, at around 11pm servers went down and my character was lost. they came back up at around 1am, i played a bit on a new char in slot 2, then went to bed.

I woke up today, game was working perfectly, better than ever before. And still my slot 1 was empty.

So they char in slot 1 never recovered.

 

So if it actually works when you dont overwrite your char slot, you shouldnt make a new char in either of the slots, because that does not work.

I think they are getting deleted.
