Character deleted thing fixed?

Game has been working perfectly for me all day, thinking about buying an appartment, but wont do it if anayone has experienced the character deletion thing today.

With no official word from R*, I wouldn't bother. If it craps on you, all your work will be gone.

Ive tried going to single player, and then back into multiplayer, character saved, think ill try turning off my ps3 now just to see if sh*t is saved

 

Ive been following twitter intensly too, and i see no reports of deleted characters

They were being reported en mass yesterday, R* just chooses to ignore them. Notice that this issue never appeared on their "List Of Issues" page.

 

As I say, until R* say it's fixed and/or deleted characters can be recovered, I'm not going to play.

well i got on this morning to still not see my character. my money is still there so i said screw it i'll create a character in slot 2. i did, but now i'm stuck at the infamous waiting for race session screen. what a piece of sh*t.

Same here. Just turned on my ps3 and the character has gone. Spent a lot of time ranking up and styling my guy. I will wait until it's fixed and i hope this is just a cloud issue or something. Not going to bother creating another character only to lose it again.

I was just online, and in a serve with 15 other people, everything was working fine, just now every single one left the server at the same time, i was still, in it, so i left to single player, then i rejoined a new server and its still fine.

 

I have a feeling it will be gone when i reboot my system tho

I think what's been happening to people is they've been playing when the cloud isn't available or, been playing when it goes down, my first character got deleted but the second one I made the day after launch stayed and has ever since, since the cloud is saving

Mine's still gone... and has been since yesterday. I don't even know if the cloud saved it to begin with. I'm just going to create a new one. He was only level 4 and I have my $7000 still apparently. I'll just make sure not to try earning too much money or anything for the time being.

so far I have only been able to make a temp character...why even bother playing that just to get stuck on a blurry overhead view of the city?

 

all I can say is that cloud gaming sucks sweaty donkey balls. maybe test out your new toy before you tell millions of people to try and play with it at the same time.

This is the only sensible theory, but its not it. Ive was so cautious yesterday, i knew the cloud was up, as soon as i went down, i stopped playing, came back this morning, 14 hours later, and its still gone

I've just created my character again and got through the character creation stage without a warning about cloud saves being disabled. Everything seems to be running smoothly so far.

Logged in about half an hour ago to find my character deleted. My money was still available but my rank, apartment, and cars were gone. Made a new character in the other slot, got past the race with Lamar, restarted the console and now that new character is still available but my old one is still missing.

 

Has anyone that encountered this managed to get their character back? If not, I'm not going to play until this is fixed.

But don't take it as granted. I probably created a dozen of characters since patch release on the 1st and even though nearly all of them were created, when no error message regarding cloud server unavailable came, they all got deleted.

okey ive played for 4 housr now, rank 8, ive tried going to single player, and back to online, sh*t has been saved.

 

Im gonna try rebooting my console now, wish me luck

Yeah, that situation really sucks. The worst thing is, it doesn't even show the warning "cloud servers are down" or anything. It "works", makes us play and then everything disappears.

Made a character today. Played for about an hour. It froze so,had to reload in and all was ok. Had to come out to fix headset not connecting and when I went back in character had gone

Well on (PS3) I made it to level 9 last night played til 2am had tons of fun...Before I logged off I made sure to switch back to single player then quit the game. Just logged on now and my character was deleted WTF!!!!! Not Cool R*
