Anyone else that can't even get into the first race?

So I see all these topics about people who are at least managing to play online.

 

For me it keeps doing the intro, making me create a new character each time, then the character walks towards the car, the car disappears and then all I get is "waiting for other players". I then have to exit the game as it won't let me do anything else.

 

Just left it for half an hour with no change.

 

PS3 in the UK.

I just got in the race. Didn't work for me yesterday but I got home from school a few minutes ago and I'm in!

Same here. It sucks to but I will keep trying. The worst part is I rush home after work hoping I can get in & after several attempts I end up watching TV & reading post about how much fun people are having online. I'm sure I'm not the only one that say "I'll try to get in one more time then call it a night". SMDH...

That's pretty bad advice, assuming said person is actually interested in playing GTAO. Sure it's a sh*t fest right now, and I haven't been able to get past the first race either after trying for 2 days straight. But, these initial issues ARE going to be fixed, it's just a matter of time.. and everyone who gets past the tutorial and plays the game is absolutely loving it.

Also, what is the difference between playing online or in a solo session? Surely a solo session is just the single player?!
