When will these threads finally stop? Yes you do lose money for being killed, yes it's stupid this even happens in DM. As long as R* doesn't fix or change it you'll have to live with it!

Its doesn't matter where you die, DM, mission wherever you lose 4% of your total banked money. Its widely reported that the hospital fee is capped at 2000

People complain so R* fix it if no one complains it will stay the same having it in deathmatch etc spoils the fun I'm now avoiding it because you lose to much and gain nothing unless you get a big bet right.

If you want to save Money and you are prone to dying in DeathMatch, i'd stick to Races, Missions and Free-Roam (Sell Cars , Stocks , Rob Stores etc) to avoid excessive Hospital Bill
