Can't do first mission

Currently, when i startup GTA online and wanting to play the first mission it says ''Waiting for other players''. Been going on for an hour now. I'm in a crew with 300 people so that won't be the problem I guess. What am i doing wrong?

 

edit: My friend has the same problem, while other people just have it working fine.

Nothing you are doing wrong, I am in the same boat. I have multiple people on my f'list that are able to play, and have been since Tuesday. I am sure a lot of people are going to come in here, just to tell you to "wait". That is only because they are playing. Unfortunately, they are right, the only thing we can do is wait, or trade this pos game in on something else. R*, like all game developers, absolutely hate it when you trade a game in, because Game Stop, or another company similar, sell the game for 100% profit.

Thanks for the response. You're absolutely right about having to wait I guess. It just doesn't make any sense though.
