I feel your pain...but, don't ruin it.

A friend of mine took the day off work on Tuesday, stoked about GTA V Online. He got the patch, and sat hung-up on the race with Lamar.

 

I arrived home later at my house, got the patch, went into GTAO...no worries.

He was royally pissed that we could all slide right by him and get online right away.

He still sits with this problem as of today, and we're all playing like crazy. His friend a couple miles away, can play no probs...go figure.

The thing is, he's starting to irritate everyone else with his bitching...we all feel his pain, but don't want him to ruin the experience for the rest of us.

 

The game's only been live for a couple days, with massive amounts of people trying to get in...Give Rockstar a chance to catchup. I'm sure the servers are bursting at the seams.

Many of the posts I've seen here put an age behind the replies.

Free stuff? Free DLC? Rollbacks? Just cause things are a little rough for the first few days?

These must be the same players who terrorize us, kill us, while we are trying to enjoy the online experience.

 

You kids have got to grab some patience...for that matter, what are you doing playing this anyway?

The sun came up today, we are all still here and the world is still turning. It is a good day. There are better things to be doing than complaining about a game that isn't working properly.The game didn't work for me for a whole day, I didn't complain because I had better ways of spending my time. Now it is working for me and all is good.

Whilst I can understand where you are coming from i.e many of the 'active' complainers who demand some form of compensation, are somewhat younger than they perhaps should be, I also believe that you do miss the point a little.

 

You said that you understand why your friend is annoyed etc but I am not sure that you do. This isn't meant as a personal attack etc so please dont take it as though it is, it is merely a possible other way of thinking.

 

I know from my experience the annoyance that I am feeling about being unable to play isn't that I'm jealous - of course I would love to play right now, but that isn't possible right now and Rockstar are working on it. The issue is that my friends are able to play and they are building up a gap between myself and them that I am not going to be able to close down. It would be unfair of me to ask them to wait for me to play with them and I deffo cannot blame them for taking the opportunity to play a game they love. In addition, you are able to join 'random' people online and play with them, but lets be honest...the experience with randoms is rarely 'good' as you often find that immature grief-giver who spoils the fun for others; even when the experience is good it rarely comes close to how good a game is when playing with friends. You don't want him ruining your experience with his moaning, have you thought how you might be ruining his by rushing ahead?

 

On the topic of freebies as a mean of compensation. I don't believe anyone should expect anything, Perhaps the best thing Rockstar could offer would be a week's 'bonus XP' style event where those playing GTA Online received 2xRP+2xJP+1.5x$ up to Rank 15. This way the gap would be closed sooner allowing friends to play together more effectively.

I agree with you OP, can't blame cockstar, I like making jokes about it and stuff, but in the end, its not completely their fault.

 

Servers are overloaded as f*ck.
